Any tips for quickly soloing Pitt expeditions?
I started grinding the Pitt expeditions a week ago because I noticed the resistances of my excavator power armour weren't doing so hot against, well, the Pitt, so I'm aiming for the Union set because it has a carry weight boost for the full set that's only a bit worse than the excavator set's, but in return it has roughly double the resistances.

My build is plasma caster, no VATS because I can't get a good legendary roll for it and I found a bug that lets me burst fire two shots by aiming after firing once and mashing the shoot button before letting go of the aim button. Oh and I've begun using Hellcat armour for the extra resistance, and while it's annoying not having 400+ carry weight it has served me well enough for the expeditions.

With some efforts I've gotten my completion time down to 30 minutes minimum, but average of 35-40.

So far I've:

Found that the Ashes map is the best for solo play because the final objective isn't a glorified team DPS check.

Learnt all the locations for possible side objective spawns in the Ashes map, and some of the locations in the Union Dues map.

Have taken to rushing the first objective before entering the interior because they seem to despawn after completing the main objectives.

Any additional advice?

For me UD is faster unless you get protect the depot. But I can solo everything except the boss battle at the end. As you pointed out, it’s a dps test and I fail. Last weekend I got in a team with some people and the leader was a beast, they lead it 5 times in a row, last time was 9 minutes in and done.

But you are correct in that AtF is easier solo. To be fair, it sounds like you know the maps, know the side objective locations. It’s just that the map and several of the objectives are just laid out in a manner non conducive to solo speed runs.

Pretty much this. Stuff is placed to be needlessly time consuming.

I solo them using the Chinese armor and Fixer and max sneak and combat buffs with no problems but it's not a speed run by any means. Gotta say I never tried to solo in power armor so no idea how to do it that way.

I wouldn't do it with a Plasma Caster. Despite how hard it can hit, it's fire rate and magazine capacity is too low.

A Power Armor (T-65) heavy gun build does the trick nicely. It's just that objective placement is deliberately asinine. The key for easy survival is usually having funky duds so you don't get wrecked by poison damage. Face tank everything.
Thanks for the advice and info everyone. Seems expeditions are just wack for solo players, so I'll try joining a team when I have a good stretch if time to do so. My current speed just isn't what I want because by my calculations it'll take me 5 more weeks to get all the union pieces. If I can get a sub-15 minute run consistently with a team then that'll easily halve that.

Expeditions are meant to be the Fallout 76 equivalent, or closest to, of MMO dungeons. Daily Ops was supposed to fulfill this need, but it got so easy yet tedious for the playerbase that many often have to shut off their brain just to start it.

Expeditions are indeed soloable, but like Von_Reese said it won't be a speed run in any way. I soloed it my first time but was unable to do it in under 10 minutes, and I did a full on Rambo Commando build.
