Advice 50 cal Ok?

I have a 50 call armor piercing explosive and think it is ok.. what other 50 cals should I try and make/get?
Also am I good with my 50 cal ? I like the look but seems many suggest other guns. Advise please. I have a hvy gunner build at moment.

I like having a 50cal Vampire, explosive helps with tags and it's no spinup or down so stims are quick. 2 shot just sprays all over, AA or Bloodied otherwise. Becketts quest gives you a decent one..not bloody though.

I carry several heavy guns at all times:

- Grenade launcher for enemies with reflective skin and/or cloaking ability.
- Flamer for events that have NPCs you need to protect with Friendly Fire (Radiation Rumble, Test Your Metal).
- Gauss Minigun with prime barrel to fight scorchbeast queen.
- Minigun shredder as melee basher.
- Gatling plasma to use up my 30+ plasma cores.
- Final Word (50 cal) for tagging the weaker enemies in events.

Ok Trying to work on a gatling plasma but only got a couple bloodied versions so far.

You still use the final word? Ok still have mine but been using the armor piercing explosive one more that it.. just unsure what to use i guess

I've found that 90% of encounters can be handled by my three star short Gatling gun. The ammo is easy to find, the mag holds 500 rounds and the fire rate doesn't chew ammo too fast. A full Gatling gun w/explosive does nicely for the rest...

I use a Troubleshooters 25% Faster Fire in the silo's. 50 cal ammo weighs more than 5 mm ammo. But that takes those robots down faster than the explosive Gatling because of my perks. I have fun, I carry one of everything and 3 chainsaws.

Ok so made a couple of gatling plasmas seems my issue is ammo.. need to start collecting copper and such.

As a heavy weapon build lover, I really don't use the 50 cal unless I have to. The spread is terrible at long range and you can only do so much with it, but it does do great damage if you stay close.

i got like 50 cores to give you
free ofc

as for copper
easiest stuff to collect in the world
every silo has these dumbbells beginning rooms
monorail on top bunch of those also
VTU main ground = also exercising room


quick tip: plasma cores nearly depleted ...
you can upgrade them to ultracite versions easily
at first you'd think it is a blessing, but it is a curse lol

50 CAL Vampire, Explosive, third doesnt matter. AA is nice but the vampire effect is up there.

You do not really even need the extended magazine on this weapon, 250 rounds is usually good enough for most things. It is like you my to go to general heavy weapon, can not stand spin up weapons at all personally.

Or if you have the mats to make a ton of Gauss ammo, the Gatling-Gauss is a insane weapon especially with Vampire.

It has innate "explosive" damage that all Gauss weapons have, and it's insane damage and fire-rate will make you not only invincible, but you deal insane damage.

The only downside is the very expensive ammo since it uses the EC2 (I think that's the ammo name) AKA the Gauss rifle ammo.

As for .50 Cals, they are still really good, especially the Anti-armor/explosive versions.

Just do not use two-shot, you will not hit anything in front of you that is further than 5 feet away lol.

i haven't played much with gatt gauss yet
i believe the excessive cost of the ammo is what kept me from trying
