They have weight, so if you have 60 known plans, that may be 10 lbs. The perk cards are sometimes up to 5x the card to fully upgrade. So you can get Power Armor by taking the pieces off the shell, then you can get in the shell. You can also wear it without any pieces. After that when you exit, it will return automatically. Some mods change the durability but if you craft with Armorer upgraded to 3x, it should add more durability. Armor Bench = outfits and armor. Tinker Bench = ammo, quest items (computer cores, repair broken tube for Wren, and gifts).
I am sure only that plans I bought/found ÁND learned aren't showing anywhere
First you have to know the plan for the base item, and craft that known item in the under armor tab of the armor bench.
Then you have to know the lining plan. If you purchased Plan: shielded lining Raider under armor. That doesn’t let you craft the base item. It only lets you craft the mod onto a previously existing item.
Once you have the crafted under armor you then go into the modify option of the armor workbench and modify it.
Some armours also require specific perks to be equipped to craft them, easiest way to see what you can craft armour wise is to go into crafting on the armour workbench, then hit q I think to filer to show only known plans, then go into say the light armour category and it will show all the base armour plans you can craft, note you can mod armour if you have the plans and the armour already, you just can not craft it, so say for example you have ultra light for combat armour arms, you can mod any combat armour arms with the ultra light mod, what you can not then do is craft the base combat armour arm, also some armours have different base plans for light, medium and heavy versions, combat armour does, I think robot does as well not too sure off hand if any others do, there is also separate plans for arms, legs and torso for each armour.
I know about guide finding heavy armor set plans but I don't do guides until I am forced to do it.
