Healing Factor Serum effect removal?

Ive played this game before but never had anything like this, i got a healing factor serum from an event. It sounds like a good effect, so i want to use it, but i think i remember something about mutations being removable, and i dont want to accidentally remove it.

Is this effect completely permenant, or is there a way to remove it (so i can avoid doing that)
