Brand new stuck on "Signing in..."
As title says. Downloaded\installed game in Steam and when I load in it says press any key to start. I hit anything and it says Signing in and never does anything.
Ryzen 7 2700x, RTX 2080, 32GB ram.

Not sure what to do\try as I have never played 76 before and it's a fresh install...

They broke the game for a lot of people myself included with the new season patch. I've reinstalled removed and re-added all my antivirus and firewall exceptions. Still get disconnected every time trying to load into the world.

Always....always.......... verify the game files before running the game. May not help your problem... but good thing to do on any re-install and/or update.

Agree. I run a verify files check through Steam any time Fallout 76 has an update and I haven't had an issue yet.

Same issue here. Tried to verify files and nothing was different.

Same issue here. New user and I thought maybe if I just left it on maybe it works. I left my computer on trying to sign in for 4/5 hours and nothing. I reinstalled, launched the game from folder, ran as admin and did all the fire wall stuff ,nothing. Idk what else to do?
Same, bought the game but never actually made it past signing in. Three hours of troubleshooting of verifying, checking firewalls, reinstalling, verifying, checking ports, PC updates... It just works.

Have you tried waiting a bit before pressing any key? I had this bug before the update, try to wait till the scenery changes once or twice.

same Issue, starts to sign in and then screen freezes and nothing happens. True Bethesda charm

refund now and don't look back.

I just tried again after giving it a solid 2 minutes before hitting any key and same thing.
I have Microsoft Security Essentials (which doesn't block anything).
Windows firewall is disabled, and my Sonicwall only blocks incoming traffic, never outbound so it could never have a problem with a game.

Trying the verify files, but I just installed it scratch so I don't understand how it could be a problem.

I got the game from Humble Bundle so there is no refund per se, but i'm not concerned about the money (I would rather they not get my money and it just go into a trash can then pay this dev who allows a game to be sold that cant even be opened years after it was made).

I'm also not sure that thread has my issue. The game doesn't crash or fail to open. It just says signing in. Signing onto what? I never put an account in anywhere.

Tried to verify files but all were good. Same thing.

I uninstalled the game and installed it on an NVME SSD (vs my 7.2k drive) and same thing.

Maybe ill just re-install Fallout 3 and play a game that is known to actually be good instead of trying to get a game that is suppose to be terrible to work.

Had the same issue. Solved it by installing Steam and Fallout 76 on a backup PC. Once I accepted the EULA on the backup, I was able to log in on the main. Tried everything else I could find through various search engines. Even opened a support ticket. The backup PC install is the only thing that worked.

I mean I can't argue with facts. It just makes no sense. I can install it on another computer, but I'm almost thinking I should take it as a sign.

Once I logged in on the backup PC once and accepted the EULA, it worked on the main PC. Its a pain for sure. I guess it depends on how bad you want to play this.
