Norton Anti Virus warning

Hey guys,
my Norton AV gives me a warning that there is something unsafe with FO76 when i want to start it. It occured just today since i downloaded the new patch.
Is this possibly a false-positve?

Well if you just got the patch, the servers are still down for Maintenance. Could be what is triggering it. To see when servers are back up go to status.bethesda.net/en

It's a false positive. You could consider getting rid of norton and just using an adblocker and Windows Defender. AV since newer Windows 10 and onward is bloatware. A good adblock like uBlock Origin will protect you from popups and trackers.

Norton advertises to its users to scare them into thinking they need better protection, when in reality, most aftermarket antivirus just takes up CPU time that could give you better performance in game if you do without it.

Regardless, it's a false positive. Likely is detecting any anti-cheat functionality that hooks into the system to monitor memory integrity.

Any anti virus except windows defender is ♥♥♥♥, it just loading system with some background trash and blocking everything without risk. It will not help you if u really get virus

the cure you need for norton is called uninstall. just don't use it.

Norton is a resource hog, as others have said use defender. You might even have to get the uninstall tool from Norton to actually remove it if you so choose.

Get off Norton you fool. Get a much proper protector at least.

Norton used to be decent but somewhere around 2014 it became trash and is now a laughing joke compared to other virus protections in the market.

If you still don't understand why to stop using that then here something to help you Norton is like the equivalent to Microsoft edge or even Facebook metaverse things that should die but still carry on existing.

But yeah as others have already made it clear it is false positive. If a AAA game was gonna have a virus update it would be in the news as clearly the media will make Bethesda or Microsoft accountable for their mistake and well really stir up the pot. As far as i know of this has never happen in game history with a AAA game, indie games sure it has happen, now then like a adding a miner virus to mine other peoples GPUs but a AAA title game, as far as i know never happen.

All Anti Virus are intrusive invasive GARBAGE...I have not used one for years and years and i never will and have 0 issues...a flawless record...AV is a SCAM.
FO76 is so clean is whistles.

if you have windows, windows anti virus is the best you can get and it is free.
AVG and Norton send false positives to make it seem like they are doing something.

edit: norton was doing the whole bitcoin mining too i though t for a while, hence the resource drain.
