What other games exist that are voice chat only?

Wow I guess I have to pick that up. I recently tried Chiv 2 at the suggestion of forum members and it's pretty much what you can expect from mindless hack and slash but the one thing that reminds me how awful online gaming is, unavoidably, are the text chats used to vent personal trauma and toxicity on strangers. One of the best choices of Devs is to not include text chat; the conversations of some users are enough to permanently scare away business from certain studios. Toxicity in gaming culture is becoming more and more frowned upon socially, so hopefully someone will innovate a better solution soon. An AI mod that promotes access to ranked channels based on your chat content seems like it would be easy enough.

They didn't want chat they wanted emotes

this was to up the survival and PvP of the game (when you had open pvp everywhere) to make trusting harder

voice chat came afterwards (or maybe same time was before I started)

they have no plans to ever add text because that keeps a nasty log of things and would force them to have to deal with the content on it which really they don't wanna do

They didnt wanted to have a Chat because they dont want do deal with all those reports, with voice chat they can claim (unless the reporter attached a video on it) that they cant do anything about it, with text chat they would have logs so no excuse to do nothing.

big part of why they don't really stop the unofficial text mod, they can just go oh noes our players made an unsupported unapproved mod and are being bad with it... gosh nothing we can do about that

The game has always had voice chat and emotes as the only means of communication. Initially they did not have a PTT functionality, if you had a mic enabled, the mic was active. PTT was added as well as more emotes.
