Fallout 76
How do you trade safely in this game?
Just saw this morning the legacy paint from t-60 and didnt have caps to buy it from the machine, contacted the vendor via first talking to him and then writing in his discord, told me about a thing of hard to trade things and told me about paying 5 bucks for "safe trading"... what was that nonsense? (just curious).

its a 50-50 shot. no trading in the game is safe. and you should never pay real money to trade fake items
didnt paid anything, just made my offer for the plan, and he? she? told me about something "to trust safe traders to not steal" and "5 bucks for a safe trading service?", thats why i am asking.
trading is not safe at all. never know what you will get. and if the other player will just run, with your stuff. or another player will sneak up and steal your stuff. only way to trade is to drop stuff, and the other issue is the game might CTD and poof all your stuff is gone. also if you drop items for trade its fair game for all in the game.

ok, but is how usually trades work, (5 years playing in gw2, trading with other players), so im up for the risk it takes, the thing i got the wtf was the service, what service? i will never pay real money for a trade, so, thats why i am you (all) asking, if its a normal rule i didnt know.
That sounds fishy af. Most traders I know use the reputable couriers (middle-men) at r/Market76 . They don't charge anything (but accept caps/items/etc as tips) and have a visible track record.

But like Zombie_Pizza said there is no 100% guaranteed safe trading.

And real money too? because when he told me i thought wtf? real money for a service? you are trying to scam me?

At the end nothing happened, just he left (because surely he checked if i had a list of trades on this market, and will never have).

No real money. That sounds like a scam.
you trade safely if both parties record the transaction/transfer
example: someone gave me a bunch of stuff
i recorded it
posted it on youtube unlisted
sent him the vid in case he didn't record it
and i request he post it on his youtube
nobody gets Funked

you did nothing wrong
you refused to buy stolen goods
Only vending machiare are safe for trade, for the rest it's 50-50. You can get scammed or you can get what you paid. Avoid trade 1-1, just use the vending machine.
