Building a CAMP inside a bunker?

I got that free quest bunker. Only thing is I cant seen to be able to get into build mode.
I've read around the net and watch a few vids on building your camp inside a bunker.
But nobody tell how to start.
What do I need to do to get into build mode?
I'm wanting to add it to a small camp I have already started. Plenty room left to build.

Ok, I could be wrong but, I think you misunderstand how it works.

In your above ground Camp open the build menu and scroll all the way to the right side. There you will see a new Category called Shelters. The free one has a hatch style door. Place that in your Camp, then enter it. Once inside open the build menu and start building.

The shelters are a different world space/interior cell. It's not just a door in your Camp where you walk in to a new room.

I placed the shelter as you said. Did that before.
I don't see how to then get in shelter to start building?
I'ts outlined in blue. When I tab for build mode it wants to place another one.

Drop out of build mode, then walk up close to it and hit E to enter

I've done that over and over. To the right inside the door I always got this.

I never got that build button before and never looked hard enough in that spot. (I shouldn't have to)

they work for me.
It tells me I'm leaving steam and then the picture appears.
What always happened was I would look at the panel to the right.
But E build didn't show.
I had to get right in front of the panel to get E to show.
It never dawned on me I needed to be so precise.

Actually, anywhere inside the shelter, or the camp build radius you can just E and go into build mode. You don’t need to see it on the device.

You can enter build mode anywhere inside the camp radius or anywhere inside the shelter. No need to be at the camp device.

For me it is hold down middle mouse button or hold V key. Think these are the defaults.
