Can't Level up Special's?
I havent player for awhile, but recently started playing again and I've noticed something... that for my past 10 level ups...

I can't level up any of my SPECIAL stats...
All I can do is chose a new perk card.

I was really looking forward to getting things like my Charisma, Agility leveled up some more as these were always a bit low since I focused early on with leveling up things like Strength and Perception.

Did something change, and we can't level up our Special stats anymore?

You stop gaining SPECIAL points after level 50.

Go to the card machine and select your other build out. Did you do the Legendary upgrades? They work really good. Melee attacks explode, double ammo, and I NO LONGER have to care about rads with the rad card. Find your build, select regular perk cards. Scrap cards you don't use so you can level up "Legendary Perk Cards". It takes 100 points = scrap 50 regular perk cards. Also, you may want a 1, 2, and 3 version of a card to use in certain situations.

Ah.. yea I'm only level 60... so, yea that makes sense then... that for the past 50 levels, I stopped being able to level up SPECIAL's.

Thanks for the info guys!

No problem. I was as confused as you when it happened way back when for me. At any rate. When you reached level 25 you got access to the Punch Card Machine and are able to change your loadouts. When you use the Punch Card Machine you can also redistribute your SPECIAL points.

At level 50 you also got access to a Legendary Perk, but you may have missed that. When you go to your perk overview you go click Legendry Perks at the top of the screen. Here you can select a perk from the legendary list and equip it.

Note that max base SPECIAL rank is 15. So if you have 15 base strength from SPECIAL allocation and add another Strength legendary perk it will not do anything. However you can redistribute Strength to 14 and put the extra point into something else. With the legendary Strength perk you'd still get 15 strength.

Legendary perks can be levelled up to gain even more points. You can gain upto 6 Legendary Perks.

Other ways to increase these stats is by specific armor, underarmor, or by eating specific food or using bobbleheads. You can increase these stats to pretty high numbers. :)

Yes, a lot of players have been caught out by this. No info anywhere from Bethesda or on the perk screen.

Perk sharing only works off your base charisma amount, not any points added by the legendary perk. Using legendary charisma is basically pointless for this reason.

So the trick if you want to have high charisma, is put a legendary special somewhere else and move those points over to Cha so you have natural charisma.

The highest Charisma I go is my team doc/support, and he has 12. 9 points of charisma will give the ability to share most, and 12 will give the ability to share cards like bodyguard or guards I forget which it is (maxed). A true support build you won't see many in-game, they can be changing solo.

But don't forget about your perks for weapons and experience gain. using a planner will help a ton.

or

hope some of this helps.
