Fallout 76
Prices
Hello.
Just wondering if you all could give me some ideas on what you sell your extra stuff for?
I'm looking to start selling my excess chems, fusion cores, healing items, and plans.
Not looking to get rich, just pick up some extra caps and move my extra items at a fair price.
Thanks.

NOBODY is getting rich or making "profits" because you can only have 40k caps max. I sell things cheap and I *constantly* have 40k caps. If I don't sell anything, I STILL have 40k caps constantly. But if your stash weight is so high that it affects your enjoyment of the game, then all that caps you can earn are useless. I sell mainly to alleviate my stash weight (and benefiting other players is my secondary objective). I just saw a player selling tons of expensive heavy weapons that were just weighing down his stash and I was like, what was he ON? You get rare items ALL THE TIME because so many things in the game reward rare items. This is a game, we're playing A GAME. Real-world economy doesn't really apply here, such as the fact that the real world doesn't put a $40k cap on your net worth, LOL.

Ok, lets see who is telling the truth when your stock goes 0.

PS: yes, is a game, but you forgot one thing, is an online game, and all online games have a market, official or underground, also the cap limit is for toon, you can make mules.

Also, we didnt talk about the very expensive items, items so rare (for example the red asylum dress, chance to get one is 1 in into 2 billion servers visited), you will think someone with one will want your caps? or sell it cheap?

I think the garage sale comparison is apt. A lot of "value" is completely arbitrary for a number of reasons, but the biggest one is how there's a limit to how many caps you can have and it really isn't a very big number when you consider how much shopping is expected to happen and the fact that NPC vendors have a limit of 1.4k per day and they eat your caps if you try to barter the inventory down instead.

I see a lot of players who come into my camp with expectations about prices(and locked doors even though I meticulously placed my stuff so that *every single* spawn is directly in front of my shop. But that's another thing.) I sell things that I don't produce for more and I sell things I have an abundance of for cheaper. With STASH capping at 1.2k Ibs, I need that inventory space more than I need chems that I don't have leftover hotkeys for. So I sell that for cheap. But I burn through copper and adhesive and screws. I spend a lot of time farming for them too so that I don't ever run out, and also try to keep them stocked in the shop because they're in a lot of recipes. But I'm not gonna spend all day making copper and adhesive so one cheeky jerk can roll in and buy all my stock for 2k. It takes *all day* to make that amount that they expect for 2k. I know adhesive from merchants costs literally 3 times what I sell it for. It doesn't matter how abundant these things are, there are never enough of them so don't listen to the haters.

I think they just want lower prices so they try to perpetuate the idea that things are worth less than they are. I almost never see an earnest answer when I look at posts about how much stuff is worth. People say Fusion Cores are worthless but I sell 20 of them every weekend at 60 caps a pop.

Sell based on how much you value your time. Because most other players don't value you, or your time at all. But don't cater to them, because they aren't buying anything anyway. They just want it for free.

Get at me, haters.
I charge very little because I am always close to 40k caps. I give 5 to 10 k away every couple weeks and am back to 40k. I decided to go with aristocrat weapons and got the necessary 29k in 3 weeks. Now my habits mean I am constantly making more caps than I can use.

Ya cool bro, but like....why did you dig this 10 month old thread up ?
Didn't do any digging, was top result on google when I was looking to see what people's expectations for junk was to explain why there's no middle ground between people being peeved and people buying out an entire stock.

Btw, who taught you grammar? My dad?

You have to sell items for at least one cap:cozyfallout4: for the daily assignment. Zero caps:cozyfallout4:, Does not count as a sale.

Prices very, how common, how many you have, rarity. Who are you selling the items too. Common plans, like you get from a workshop, can pile up. So, low level players may want those, but they will not have much in caps.
After level 100-300 most players have most plans, and those sales go away, after time.

Is it priced to move, or is it rare. Does it have stats that some may want? Low Weight, Ultra light, if they are collecting it. Vampire, Anti-Armor, Bloodied, Etcetera. What are the Stars? Good, bad.

How much stash space do you have? Look at the levels of people that go to your camp. See what other players are charging. How close are you to max caps:cozyfallout4:? Lots of stuff to think about. :cozybethesda:
Plans - 20 caps
Extra cores - dump in donation box
Extra serums - 20 caps
Extra outfits - dump in donation box

pretty much anything extra goes to donation, I'm past the point where caps matter

the standard is sell stuff between 10% to 25% base value, depending on how rare it is, exceptions are stuff like plans or outfits exclusive to events, which can go as high as you can since they are unobtainable (for the time being), this also applies to super rare stuff like plans for The Fixer

So I don't know if the drop % has been changed, but I got two Fixer plans from the last three mutated public events. No idea what they are worth, so just keeping 'em for now.:catinablanket:
If another player drops a nuke directly onto your camp, your prices may be too high.

A good base to sell legendary
Hope it makes sense, was a bit of a pain to copy from my notes.

Script Rates (one Script gets 20 caps)
Armor:
* = 3/ 60
** = 9/180
***=24/480

Weapon:
* = 5/100
** =15/300
***=40/800

PowerArmor:
* =10/200
** =20/400
***=45/900

(This is for crap Legendaries (Legendaries no one will buy, other than scripting out)

Since when did that happen? 10 caps is the going rate... not 20 caps.

Also, I sell plans under a base value of 1k caps at 10c each. 1k caps or high I list at 20% of base value... 1200 cap plan for example I sell for 240 caps... I get a reasonable turnaround of plans to make good money... 40k caps a day? no, 10k on a good day? sure.

My only exception is the really rare plans, those I sell for a bit more, anything up to 20k caps normally.

This post isn't exactly new, and I still sell at 20 per, have fun

Sell at market value- to everyone that disagrees "you are poor- go away off into the wilderness and pick berries"
Bulk 3 stars at 2,500 is a steal. So I've been doing that over the holidays. Hit max caps in roughly 15 minutes.

Camp vendoring is a car boot/flea market/yard sale/garage sale simulator.

There is no central market and there is little to no competition. It's all point of sale negotiation.
That's not true. Players can't make an offer and you accept/counter. I'd love to be able to list stuff for sale and have players give me live feedback if something was reasonably priced or not. Instead there's no way to get a baseline of what people charge other than the in-game valuation offer and I don't think many people trust that at all.

Earning caps by selling stuff is not terribly hard. What's hard is buying stuff, and finding things to buy that you need. You can only have 40k caps max, and that forces you to buy things sometimes. But as you play on, as you've got more and more stuff, you may find it harder and harder to find things to buy, not surprisingly. For instance, I'm almost level 400 and I've bought every single plan and recipe from the Whitespring vendors. There is no easy place to go to to clear my caps cap.
why would you want to clear your caps?
