It's an Online only Multiplayer Role playing game
Notice the "Online Only Multiplayer"
You don't buy a Volkswagen and wish it was a Porsche. It is what it is and you bought it as such.
You can always wish it was a Porsche, you just don’t yell at VW when they don’t offer a conversion kit.
Bah, you got me!
Fun fact: Herbie, the little Beetle that could, had a Porsche engine.
76 was built as an online multiplayer game, so there will be many aspects that will be very difficult if this game was shut down and made offline singleplayer tomorrow. The boss fights (Queen, Earle, Encrypted, the Titan) would be very difficult even if you have a really good build. Would it be possible? Yes, I have seen people do it, it will just be difficult to pull off (And with a timer on the events, many people will just not make the deadline).
The MP content this game has ie events, DO, and Expeditions will just be leftover content in an offline mode. Though they are all possible to solo, it would be pointless unless you still want the rewards you don't have yet.
So unless Bethesda makes an "offline mode" that is a genuine remake of 76 as a singleplayer game and not what it is now exported to an offline version, 76 is better off staying an online MP game.
As someone who is not as reliant as mods as other people when it comes to Fallout games, I disagree when it comes to mods being the "best part of any Fallout game." Though I do enjoy mods every now and then if it enhances the immersive experience through gameplay or looks ie Moribund World, modding does not always need to be necessary for one's experience. I put in 1178 hours on Fallout 4 without mods - 888 hours on console (XBox) and 290 on PC.
For XBox never once did I have one mod in my experience, and I grinded all the way to level 115 before I started to look for Nick Valentine (Minutemen quest, side quests, explore the map, kill as much mobs as I can looking for legendaries, you name it). And after doing the MSQ I grinded 10+ more levels in between each story-based DLC before doing the actual DLC. Then in 20 more levels before I stopped entirely.
For PC, I put in probably 270+ hours at least before I downloaded my first mod. And the mods I used just added some extra flavor for immersion. Moribund World I mentioned already, but I also used some mods that added more options for settlement building, a mod that adds some gameplay bonuses based on choosing military branches and experiences prior to the game's story (Nate was indeed in the military, makes sense he should get some bonuses afterall).
What I'm trying to say is that modding should never be the "best part" of a Fallout game, nor should it be the ultimate pleasure for it and any Bethesda game. It should be there as an optional feature to get additional fanmade content to enhance the gameplay experience as I did mine. I understand not many share my view, but I can tell you that not everyone would agree with you.
But if you are arguing that modding is the best aspect of Fallout games, or Bethesda games, in general because of additional content like story packs (Fallout London, Fallout Miami, etc) and some extra questlines, then I'd rather wait for the next Fallout game.
Aha, so, if the world is rotten then you want to join it before have it better than you found it? ok, guilties are whoever trigger the pull to kill someone and all others who agrees and do nothing to stop the killer.
this game is made for online coop
and as such
the only reason i keep playing is because of the friends i made along the line
24 friends on 1 server would be amazing
