Power armor question

I found PAs on 2 different places, and got chassis and few armor pieces chassis had..I'm at lvl 20 so can not use anything but chassis.

But do I REALLY have to carry that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chassis and armor pieces with me all the time or waste so much stash space...there is no other way to store it..not even on docking station?

All those pieces weights over or equal of 10..and I am not gonna use it all the time..it's tank for heavy duty work..fusion cores being rare atm as it is for me..got few but 50% condition or less.

if PA-Pieces are attached to the frame their weight does not count, 10lbs for the combo.

PA-pieces and frame are common finds, no need to store them.

At lvl 25 get the Excavator Power Armor.

As the other player says, if the pa pieces are inside the chassis, you will only carry the 10lb of the chassis, if there are out, then all of the weigh.

For early fusion cores, capture a powerplant workshop or let a player have it (if a higuer player was there), give energy to the extractor, and you will have some cores from time to time, (remember to not put a lock, so you can avoid a pvp for the extractor), also, the event in the asylum, if you finish it, give you 2 full cores.

Cool, I scrap PA pieces and dump chassis..when I actually can use those I attach pieces and save weight that way later on.

Equip the armor to the chassis like suggested, I believe the is a PA you can start using at lvl 15, I think it's Raider PA so if you are really interested, try to keep an eye out for that.

You can put some level 15 Raider on it. But really might as well wait for Excavator at 25.

PA weights should really be addressed, its basically pointless for them to weigh what they do other than lore reasons when the frame reduces the carry of up to 6 things each to a flat 10

Either unworn frames should have the total weight of the armour
or
Armour should weigh less
or
Since they want "fair and equal" non power armour users shouldn't have weight from clothing they have equipped

Which of course ruins the already pointless weightless effect but :shrug:

Easy Fixed if you use mods. Use a mod called Power Armor Hoarder.[www.nexusmods.com]
You can place down mats in a settlement like Sanctuary and send the whole thing there. Frame, parts and all. Just remove the core if there is one or your settlers will grab it if the settlement is attacked.

I use that one all the time along side Worsin's Power Armor Garage

Just a bit curious here as to what fallout game you think this discussion forum is for

So here’s what happens, you’re lower level and out adventuring you find a Power Armor frame with pieces parts that are too high level for you to wear. So you can’t claim the frame. So what do you do? Simple, you remove the pieces from the frame and climb in. Voila’ you now own a PA frame and some pieces you can’t equip. Easy.

Get back out of the frame and transfer the pieces back to the frame. But wait you say, I can’t get back in, and I can’t pick it up. How do i keep this frame. You keep it by doing nothing and after 90 seconds the frame will recall to your inventory. Complete with the pieces you can’t wear yet.

Neat. well I already scrapped pieces and got mats, I remember about where I got it so I can go back there at lvl 30 if really want it..some farm and locked door..but i'm sure I find those elsewhere.

And btw even chassis 10 weight is too much ppl to carry around..best way to handle it would be shelters, snap chassis on shelter floor as sticky object, ala FO4

Just put it in your stash if you don't need it.
