Bulk Item Crafting
Is there a benefit or advantage to crafting bulk items? I see them but am unsure...

Bulking allows you to sell things like wood scraps to npc vendors.
There is/was a list of things to bulk that would lower stash weight, but not sure what those items were off the top of my head. It was made mostly obsolete when 1st came out.

The only reason to bulk is so you can sell the bulked item to the vendorbots.

With the exception of two items, there is no weight savings other then the plastic you blow on the bulking process.

You sure there is no weight saving when bulked? I'm bulking everything to make some more space in my stashbox. Perhaps the heavy stuff can do some weight saving like steel and lead. but I'm confused here I'm gonna check when I have 10 materials to bulk.

The math might have changed over the years. But, the big "savings" comes from the fact that you lose a piece of molded plastic with every bulking.

The only one that saves weight when bulked that I know for sure is Lead. I think aluminum might as well, but generally the only benefit of bulking is being able to sell items that won't sell when loose. I do it anyway to help with unit management in my stash - the rule of thumb I use is to keep only about 80-100 items for loose scrap that can't be bulked (e.g. Ultracite Scrap, Gold, Silver, etc.) and between 3-5 bulked items of common/easy-to-get scrap like glass, bone, leather, cloth. If I end up with any more than that I sell the junk or just drop it if I'm at my cap-max or daily cap limit.

Also, I don't bother bulking wood or steel since I'm always using them to build or repair, and bulking plastic is just a waste since I'll un-bulk them right away anyway. Ironically, perhaps, I also don't bother bulking lead, since I'm forever crafting Fixer feed.
