WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWell

Hmm?
You don't have the travel discount perk card?
You don't use the multiple fixed FT points first to save caps?
You don't have 2 camps strategically placed in those FAR FAR AWAY places, to save caps?
Other dan dat I ain't got nuttin 4 YA!

everybody's mileage varies... I don't use the perk card for travel. I don't see any issue paying caps to go some place for events. If I am low in caps, I may travel to the closest fee travel point and then do a shorter travel to the event (but that is really rare that I care...).

Fast travel costs can be significantly reduced with some simple steps.

There is a perk to reduce fast travel cost. There are also many free fast travel points on the map, so fast travel for free to the closest one to your destination and then pay a reduced cost for the rest of the way.

Also if you are on a casual team, which you should be for the extra xp and faster levelling. Then you can fast travel for free to team mates camps, 1st tents and to their person wherever they are on the map.

Been a long time but I have been doing the main quests yet again on another character as i forgot i cannot get prime gauss minigun plan from minerva, it has to be from mortimer. I have been finding that many quest cap rewards cover the cost of any running around all over the map i have to do anyway. So it is not that big a big deal.

Was so excited to see and especially hear Rosie again. Yay! :steamfacepalm:

Why are you paying 54 caps to go anywhere? That is like across the entire map.

With so many free points to bounce off I fail to see why anyone would have to pay that much.

Well I would have said just throw some ammo into a vending machine and never have to worry about cap cost of fast traveling....

However Bethesda made ammo too easy to get and have flooded the market. I can go into an Operation, Expedition, and some events and come out with more ammunition than I started them with. Top that off with an ammo storage to store ammo to save up for turning in to the exchange machine.

Well actually a ammo vending machine in the low level areas kinda works because only people buying my ammo is the lowbies that do not have the super super and ammo factory cards.

They also killed the Nuka Cola market too.....

One of the most underappreciated aspects of the game when considering RNG and multiplayer facets is re-exploration.

Sounds silly, but there are tons of locations with rare spawns that you'll only get 1 in a thousand log ins. If you're out of money it's a pretty good indication your play style as late has not included observing your surroundings.

All major events are free to travel to

A dozen free travel zones exist, if you are worried you can half the cost or better by using them

You can scatter a number of bases around to mitigate fast travel dead zones for it

Ally bases or tents are free spots

Allies are free to travel to too

You can always join a team, pick a guy close to what you want, fast travel to them for free, then hop the rest

Honestly, bumping up against the cap limit so often as I do, I actually appreciate having cap sinks like fast travel costs.

There is a perk to reduce fast travel cost. I use the heck out of it.
Razer Dec 11, 2022 @ 5:58pm
At a certain point you don't need caps anymore.

Honestly back when caps mattered I had more fun walking around because the game soft-forces you to do so. Now it doesn't matter and I click fast travel anywhere. I know I can walk, but I don't have to. So I don't.

The travel tax, and the sales tax are stupid enough as is. Who is this fee going to? For what? "Balance"? FO4 was single player and didn't have a fee for fast traveling yet a game with an online subscription does? Hella dumb, as I said brainwashed. Eat Todds ♥♥♥♥ and thank him too.
Not for me, I will complain as is my right
Also, sorry my complaint is for the ps4 version of fo76. The community is much worse, no one buys anything from player shops except extremely reduced price blueprints. The economy isn't wrecked like it is on pc. Caps arent easy to come by and sucks even more when blueprints cost so much. Cant save caps and do missions, so it feels like you have to sacrifice one aspect of the game for another. Moving your camp to "strategic" midway points is detrimental to this as it reduces the chances of someone buying things from your vendor, also having a midway point and loading twice? That ♥♥♥♥ sounds so stupid, like we all do it but ♥♥♥♥ doesn't anyone see how stupid it is?

They can convince him to change the weight of bobby pins but the cost of fast traveling is where everyone went to sleep.

FT did not cost caps in FO4, but it cost time. Things happened while you were in transit. In a multiplayer game that isn’t feasible, so the FTtax exists.

I guess OP sits at home all day in real life too. Because you know... it costs money going to most places unless you walk.
