Just server hop and your Camp will most likely place on the next one.
There are many locations where Many players build their Camp. So, the player that enters that world first gets their Camp placed.
When you log out or drop off a server, that Camp spot becomes available to anyone who joins that world/server.
1) Move your camp and rebuild. (DO NOT DO THIS unless you really want to move the camp location.)
2) Server hop hopefully the next random server you end up on will have that location empty.
3) Activate camp 2 and just use it until you can swap back to camp 1.
Some locations are very popular based on having resource collectors, a view, location, or because new players don't have much of the map unlocked so they don't see other places to build.
Your camp is fine as long as you don't take the rebuild option. It will reappear whenever you're on a server with that spot free.
Best way to avoid this happening as much is to not build in popular spots. For example if you build near Duchess' Bar you'll get blocked a lot because every new player builds their first one near there because of the main questline.
DON"T MOVE YOUR CAMP!!!
Just server hop until the spot is free because you really don't want to keep rebuilding.
With some games, when you create a character, you are assigned to a specific world, and that is your home forever. (or until you take special steps to move to a different one.) You always interact with the same people, and you "own" that specific spot of land.
FO76 takes a very different approach. Every time you launch the game. You are placed on a random Adventure server with other, random people. So it's possible that the gods of random put you on a server where someone else picked the same location to place their camp. So your camp cannot be placed.
The only time it's not random for you, is when you join a friend from the social menu. Then you are put on their random world.
Now to blow your mind. It is highly possible that the days you logged in and placed your camp. Some other new player was randomly placed on your server, and their camp was blocked because you had gotten their first.
With hundreds of thousands of characters and "limited" possible camp locations, it is impossible to say "this is my spot and nobody else can build here". If locations were able to be owned, a new player four years into the games life would never be able to place a camp.
When one of my camps are blocked, I take a moment to explore the other persons camp. See how they interpreted the terrain, what their build style is.
I want the longcoat pretty badly but 50% of server hops someone has put their camp right at Charleston Station. I get it, great spot for a CAMP, but for the love of all that is holy, I hate everyone who has a CAMP there.
(you're welcome)
