I was told earlier today that the rifle with Automatic Barrel is worth upwards of 80k though because it isn't an obtainable mod and must just come with the gun... Though idk anyone who uses EPR without the flamer barrel personally.
You're sure that these are Enclave and not just Plasma-Gun mods?
However, the Enclave Gun can come as Pistol or Rifle with differnt barrels and sights/ scopes.
But the reflexsight and Pisto/ Rifle stock is not avilable so you might grind for an "Enclave Plasma Rifle" (barrel doesn't matter) with the Reflexsight to put the flamer barrel and legendary effects on.
btw, the non-Enclave Plasmagun is only 10% weaker, Mods are learned by scrapping Plasma Guns and when turned into flamer has a 300 round Magazine like the Enclave Version.
Arguable good legendary "non Enclave Plasma Gun" can outperform a mediore "Enclave Plasma gun" and should be easier obtainable/ modifible.
hm. Always a bit weird when rare stuff is expensive just because it's rare, but then, sometimes my brain goes into completionist mode too (not for stuff that costs 80K, though...).
yeh,

yeah, I've tried farming for it on other characters, but the guy in the Enclave bunker always seems to drop the bog standard one. I don't think I've ever had anything else from him (and the others down there mostly just drop pistols, or even laser rifles).
I'm currently working on getting access to the military wing vendor in the Enclave (I wish
I'd hurried up and done that during the spooky scorched event; it's so nicely quick then). I think there's a chance to find the rifle with random mods there too.
Maybe I should try that first, just to see if I even like the weapon at all, before I get too deep into farming for the Enclave one.
Any idea if it triggers Friendly Fire, btw? That would be helpful so I don't have to carry another flamer around too (especially since I'll probably only need Friendly FIre for Rumble).
I think no, tested it in rad rumble and was shocked the guy didn't heal, then had to go in inventory to find my flamer... :)
wich is also the answer: even with the flamer-barrel the plasmagun is still rated as a rifle, not a flamer.
And it has a short range.
But the takeaway is: don't sell these mods for bottlecaps, trade them for something equaly rare that you want more then 2 Enclave Plsma Guns (2 or more makes sense if you have multiple charcaters).
I'm looking for a month, intensiv with multiple characters and couldn't find the "Enclave Flamer Barrel" mod at the vendors, but I got 1 from an Enclave event.
For the Enclave Gun/ Rifle Version with reflexsights it was the same, I could find rilfes at the vendors but either without the Reflex Sights (I have now like 6 of them :) or Scope, only 1 "perfect" I got from an Event.
Off topic but funny: I also got a non-Enclave, non-legendary Plasma rifle with flamer barrel and Reflex Sights from"Eviction Notice",though this one I could produce myself:)
However the Flamer Barrel I spent 5 hours one day server hopping and running between Watoga Plaza and Watoga Station and only found some random enclave scope mods.
Ended up buying the Aligned Flamer Barrel from another player for 32K caps worth of junk.
So got the perfect setup for it now.... just gotta spend the scrip rolling and rolling the legendary effects until I luck out, but that's gonna be some time till I have enough scrip to get enough modules to bother.
But I found the wiki list of weapons that supposedly triggers it and it seems rather random. Mostly melee with burning mods (and the page contradicts itself too; apparently the Hellstorm with Napalm mod both works and doesn't work).
yeah, I'll see. Maybe if I end up liking it, I'll want one on another character too.
... Not that I can remember if other of my characters have found the mod. I think one may have.
I guess it's the same as it used to be, I've just been luckier than I used to be...
I'm pretty sure I've never found one with reflex sight on any of my characters. But it's limited how hard I've been trying too. Mostly some farming of the bunker until I got fed up with that, IIRC.

Don't know if I should hold out for an aligned stock, but it's something (and I have a feeling I'll have terrible RNG for a year or so to make up for these recent finds).
Friendly Fire has bugged out with updates before. So, all flame weapons worked, and then one day we were just hacking up the NPCs we were suppose to save. Rough time on those scavengers, that update. Wiki might have stuff mixed up due to that. Currently, anything non-explosive with flame (not plasma) should be working for FF. Note, "Flamer Barrel" is the style of fire, it doesn't change the type of damage received; you'd be better off with a standard flamer if it did (more dps, but it's specifically fire)
After some research my verdict is:
-any Version of the "Enclave Flamer Barrel", that is the only important Part, either it comes with the gun or you can change it yourself.
-Pistol or Rifle depends on the stock, can't be changed and define wich perks (rifle/ pistol perks) benefit the gun. i.e. "Tank Killer" (perk benefits all rifles and pistols) has armor penetrtion and chance to stagger, sounds good for boss fights while pistol perks support VATS and criticals.
-Reflex Sigths reduce AP-cost, though it is personal preference if the player uses VATS or just pull the trigger non-stop because he must be close to the target anyway.
-Prime Capacitor is the only mod that can be learned but not recommaned until the user has the means to constantly resupply "Ultrcite-Plasma cells", either with "Ammo Factory" or from daily Ops or however.
-Legendary effects are again a matter of personal preference, my favorites in Order would be:
Vampire, Aristocrat, Bloodied, Anti Armor, Furious.
For Enclave and non-Enclave Plasma Flamer "Quad" is not useful as it only expands the magazine from 300 to 360 rounds.
And +25% Firerate seems to be the best second legendary effect to increase dps (or healing from Vampire).
However, after this talk I have the growing suspicion that the non-Enclave version could be better if a Capacitor is installed that increases critical damage.
The"Slug Buster" is an optional Mission reward from the Vault 87 Heist when sided with the Raiders; it has Anti Armor, +50% VATS critical damge, 90% weigth reduction and a hidden bonus wich reduces AP cost by 20%, could be useful but I have to check if it can be turned into a flamer.
Therefore the sought after mods are: reflex sight (-15% AP), stabilised stock (only rifle option), aligned flamer barrel (-5% AP can be added via mod), severe beta wave capacitor (50% crit damage can be added via mod). The true flamer only misses out on -5% AP but that is not an issue in free aim, as is the inclusion of the reflex sight.
As for mods dropping more often it's usually a character based 'luck', some characters RNG is locked (bugged) in the 'lucky zone'. Character level also plays a part in drop tables. I theorise that lower levels (playtime) are luckier in order to hook them in, then drops end up further apart. It's an old poker machine tick.
I just happened to start doing the bunker quests during Halloween and yeah, got access to that wing really quickly.
