Once you hit around level 25 or 30, keep an eye out for a Garrahan mining poster. Interact with it and it will start a quest. Finish the quest to get access to a suit of useful power armor that many people even use in place of higher tiers of power armor due to its utility.
Power armor provides something like 40% damage mitigation and 90% radiation mitigation.
Run around like that until you fill out more levels and cards. Respec into a stealth rifle build if you want to, keep power armor and spec into heavy guns (bloodied or otherwise) or buy/farm for unyielding non-PA gear to run bloodied builds (rifleman, commando or melee).
Getting a legendary weapon with vampiric on it helps a lot too in the beginning.
So i grinded for more legendarys and weapons, armour, etc. Made sure to have max level weapons and armor and even the best mods i need and then when i was level 70 i thought time to try again after all got lot more better kit and my build was much more stronger and sure enough these areas are not as deadly anymore to me don't get me wrong still chance of death but the likely hood of me taking down the enemies are much more easyer you just have to make sure your stronger enough to do it.
Also grouping up isn't gonna help much. The game does incress the Ai pool of heath and decress bit of your damage not too much its like a %2-5 decrees to make sure your team mate also gets few hits on enmmies your shooting at, you know to spread the fun out for the other player so if your struggling now, then likely your hardly doing anything and the other player would be doing most of the work if there were much stronger then you that is.
problem is once you hit high level enemies get stronger, but you get weaker
melee isnt good, as once lot enemies attack you get fast killed
minigun is bad, needs too much ammo
sniper rifles, rifles in general and even tesla do like no real damage
shotgun is too close
pistols are fun only on low levels, dont make much damage either
so I am really stuck
When you are in a casual team with some higher levels you could try the come here Emote.
Some won't respond, but some including me will, and quickly work out if you want help.
I watch the team and if one seems to be dying a lot or quickly will fast travel to them, and usually can work out if they want help or prefer to battle on alone as some do.
What is your special / perk card layout?
What weapons are you using?
What armor are you wearing?
Once you hit level 50, the balance of power should be shifting back in your favor.
Aim for the head on human-likes, the body on robots, and the tail, base, or legs for buggy styuff. The weak spots. Vats perk will help!
Try using openers. Run away from your first mobs, until you have three or four following you then drop down a mine, wait to hear the beep and then book it. You can just use this process to kill all your enemies if you have enough mines (coined, ginger bread man build) or just use one or two to soften em for you main weapon.
Alone to play is often way easier for me than with a group. While interacting with others really is one of the main draws of any online game, you should be able to perform solo to avoid high level players booting you for dying constantly. If your perks are set up more as a medic or charmer you get a partial pass, but medics shouldn't be dying unless they do so while trying to res teammates.
mostly true as its 50/50 yeah if there is more then 3 around then yeah melee might not be the best thing to use.
agreed and fussion core ones are better but still not quite that good, plasma mini guns tho now that's a more decent minigun.
Sniper rifles and rifles tho nah they quite good even if you make a sneek damage build everyone still mostly uses the fixer and that is a rifle and well vat + sneek build with a good fixer stat is overall a sniper like gun 1-2 hit kills on most things.
And the tesla is only good on robots my tesla if i recall is a two star but yet any roboot that isn't them huge robot types (rocket or minigun types) i can kill in secounds and only in two hits cause it also has anti armor. Still want electric damage but want to hit more none robots then the gauss is your choice.
they not that bad they even better in a strong PA but, since i've gotten a pepper shaker i perfer to use my shotgun shell with that lot more powerful and better imo.
Yep they too bad i am using the fact finder and a vampire 10mm (automatic) i use these two only pistols when am low on ammo on other type weapons i got to save ammo for them or even the health of weapons. It takes me like almost a full mag of the fact finder to kill most things and rarely 3 shots sometimes got to use a whole mag and half of the other to kill.
You've got to be missing something in your perk cards, armor, weapons, tactics, attack strategy, buffs...
Granted the game has changed/ nerfed, reduced dps...
But they have also created niches in weapons, armors...
Hell I stayed in sneak position till I was level 50.
I still use it when needed!
Besides, are you wanting to tank everything?¿?
Or do you want to enjoy playing towards mastering what is needed for each type of creature, situation, event, end game?
This is not a game of 1 and done...
It's designed for years of playing...
There will be an eb & flo to everything.
Even the map is divided into 3 parts.
Low level, medium, hard.
You don't have to follow the main story line.
I just sneaked around and discovered the map on foot till level 50.
Then did more of the main story. As it offered things I needed from completing parts of it...
I live in eastern /Canada time zone.
I work full time...
I play evenings and weekends.
My luck with online friends has not been stellar.
But if you want to play and learn what I can offer.
Let me know.
I will try to help!
I use a mic.
I can use discord for voice. But will need help turning it on...
Only use it when my son wants to play.
there are quite a few simple.. but good builds out there.. look for anything ' full health '.. as they take the least amount of prep work for..
You get stronger too, more perk card options, legendary cards
Melee isn't good, it really never has been, even when it could one shot the queen it wasn't amazing
minigun is bad, people use it paired with explosive for aoe hits but its still not an amazing weapon... get a vampires bashing though
sniper rifles are not good, the best ones are mediocre
Rifles are really good - fixers, railways, teslas they all have their place
Fixers - destroy everything
railways - put fixers to shame at destroying everything
Tesla's - in rad rumble to tag everything
Shotguns are universally bad, the gauss shotgun being the only exception
pistols are pretty weak, meta builds can make them viable but not competitive in the meta
Gotta agree and disagree on the mini-gun. YES, it sucks to shoot it. But don't shoot it...
The mini-gun is probably the best melee in the whole game, when you have no ammo for it. Add the shredder attachment to the barrels, and its basically a ripper from fallout 4. It's like throwing enemies into a tree chipper. Just blood, gore, and body parts everywhere.
Bashing perks increase damage (the hits are actually melee gun bashes, like hitting someone with the stock of a rifle).
And as another poster said, vampiric mini-guns are incredibly cheesy. You hit so many times a second with one that you will pretty much heal faster then enemies can damage you.
Vampiric mini-guns made boss battles so much easier for me, allowing me to farm for better legendaries and mats. Even know, a vampiric mini-gun is my go to weapon for trash mobs (saves ammo).
I'm probably the only person who is pissed that enemies actually drop the ammo of the gun type you're using now, since I get this absolutely _worthless_ mini-gun ammo now. I have to burn it off.. if there are no enemies around, I'll shoot a wall to use it up so I can go back to melee with the mini-gun.
