Reliable non perishable herbivore food?
I mainly make Razorgrain soup for ease of crafting. I also go get items for Cranberry Relish which aren't hard to get, so I put excess in fridge to reduce spoil.
I was wondering if there was food we could craft that wouldn't spoil. I heard one of the workshops lets you get some food but I'm not sure if that's reliable or if there's better alternatives for convenience.

I created another character then create extra cranberry relish, corn soup is better than razor grain. dump the lot on new character then in private world collect as required. You can also store extra weapons etc.

Sunshine Meadows has a machine that generates pre-war non-radiated food if powered up with 40 units. There are 5 or 6 choices.

I’m not sure if there is anything herbivore that it kicks out.

The Sugar Bombs it spits out are herbivore friendly, but they can't be used in Brain Bombs.

If you are into food buffs get the cards "Good with salt"(L) and "Thru-hiker"(A). With those you can get the best foods you want and don't have to use the 50% fridge in your camp.

Good with Salt and Thru Hiker (backpack is preferred) are ideal

-90% food reduction is closer to 99%

Then you want to get

- EXP Gain via int - Brain Bombs (11.25 int / 37.125% exp) or Brain Fungus Soup (7.5 int / 24.75% exp)
- EXP Gain - Cranberry Relish (37.5% exp)
- Mass AP regen - Company Tea (its difficult to make... 50 ap / sec base bonus to regen) or Tato Salad Surprise (12.5 ap / sec base bonus to regen)
- Carry weight - Steeped Fern Tea (7.5 strength bonus)
- Crit damage - Blight Soup (Super easy, and big crit damage buff... think its 175% now?)
- Perception - Gourd soup (mostly cause its easy 7.5 perception)
- Bonus ap - Tato Juice (mostly cause its easy like 50 ap or something)

Live and love 3 can be bought in mass on discord for 25-100 caps each... they increase your food bonus by 50% for an hour so is worth it (use the perk card)

A few other foods can be added but they don't really make any break point differences in how good your build is mostly

Company tea is worth 10 pieces of powered armour, tato is worth 2.5 pieces... coupled with the % ap regens I get over 500 ap regenerated a second (aka instant) once the base cooldown for ap to start its regen happens...

I run the herbivore mutation and the above posts have excellent advice. Blight soup is awesome for VATS.

I use a crafted Grocer's backpack for food weight reduction and 'Good with Salt' at max perk (90%) which preserves food for several days. The refrigerators only slow food spoilage by 50%, so they are mostly decorative in camps.

I use a maxed perk card 'Thru Hiker' in PA as the grocer's backpack only works in regular (body) armor. I use the perk card "Travelling Pharmacy" at different levels because my regular (body) armor has more weight reductions than my PA.

I make Sweet Labrador Tea when I happen to find honeycombs (not common), then I upgrade it to Company Tea. For other teas, try to make 'Steeped' and 'Infused' versions because the effects and more powerful AND last twice as long (60 min vs 30 min) so you don't have to carry as much of the "Simple" variant. I make Infused Soot Flower Tea for AP whenever I have pepper and can find Starlight Berries- use the perk card 'Greenthumb' to double the yield. For the Herbivore mutation, you need to pick up all of the spice, salt, pepper, and sugar (Snaptail Reed) whenever you find it.

Don't forget to try for the tune up before you go picking up herbs, you can get a lot more if that one lands
