Now compare Fallout 1st to the Elder Scrolls Online subscription and you will see that ESO is actually cheaper and has WAY more content.
Are you coming on the game mostly daily?
Are you ok with grinding for the heck of it you know like the scoreboard and the events for years of your life.
If yes to all three then fallout 1st is made for you.
Cause for real you technically can play and even beat the game (missions) without needing fallout 1st all you need to do is have good storage management skills thats all.
I feel for what fallout 1st offers you its only for those who play past they prime as most either get it for the scrapbox or the fallout 1st hut so they can quickly fast travel to those events that trigger like every hour other then that 1st is quite bit of a waste of your cash if your not really one of those players that stays for years on end.
Besides unique emotes and discounts, you actually get free items, lots of them.
You also get a big bag of Atoms every month to spend in the shop.
You get a tent you can place everywhere to scrap, cook, sleep and store.
You get infinite storage for your scrap, I am well past 1000 quanity on every item, almost hitting 10k on steel for example.
While everyone needs to access his financial situation, I feel like 14€ a month is not that much.
Some people order food for 30€ several times a month.
Paying a subscription =/= FREE items
Congratulations on falling for the marketing.
You can do the exact same thing (and even more) with a dedicated CAMP and a blueprinted 2x2 foundation which can be moved for an arbitrary amount of caps.
Literally the only thing of "value" in 1st
I.E. The barrel they have the player-base over.
You are paying REAL money just to store DIGITAL items you aren't even using... Great value there!
Just because it's "not that much" doesn't mean it's WORTH that much.
The Heroic map pack in Halo 3 was only $10 but was eventually made free because of community backlash over 3 maps not being worth 1/6th of a game's retail price, and that was a one-time purchase.
Sadly, the days where people stood up for things has been replaced with endless apologising on the developers behalf and having to go along with the scummy business practices because not enough people could keep their money in their pockets and bought the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horse armour and other pathetic excuses for 'content' that slowly but surely lead us to this point.
At least they got a complete meal and didn't get charged separately for the use of the TABLE & CHAIRS because the restaurant decided to remove a fundamental part of the dining experience to further increase their profits at the expense of the end user.
One thing I think they did right with it is letting you continue to withdraw scrap from the scrapbox after the sub ends. So even if you sub for just a month, you can stockpile scrap and live off the scrapbox until you sub again, if you choose to.
You get a couple cosmetic 1st items now and then, and get additional rewards from the Scoreboard. So if you want to support the game, but not have a consistent monthly sub, it might be worth it just to sub for a single month now and then during a Scoreboard to get the extra goodies and fill up your scrapbox.
I would agree with that on many different levels and not just video games.
Everything from government to business; more excuses & less value, more pressured consumerism and less choice.
But hey at the end of the day with all the products and services I have blacklisted I am going to spend my money someplace and low quality gaming is far less harmful in comparison to the things that effect real life.
You need a rain check your are paying to get those items to be able to be unlocked for you so yeah it really isn't classed as free items if you got to pay to even get them is it other then that solid comment.
Edited note: Made a mistake its already been quoted so no point fully hiding my comment please ignore and sorry in advance Naya, its still a nice solid comment you did for sure tho. :D
Thats a whole lot of whining for 14 euro a month.
Fallout 1st is worth it for a lot of people, the convience is just nice to have. Sure it should not be like this in the first place, but I don't spent my free time arguing over a video game
Just for the unlimited scrap storage.
I consider the game pretty much unplayable without it. Yes, I _could_ just walk past all that scrap junk, and NOT hoover it all up. But it makes my finders itch when I don't grab everything.
