If I get my rep low enough, will the raiders in the open map at least get aggro again?
I guess, theoretically. But I don't think you can drop a level and there are only a few ways to get negative rep such as photos or something.
Beth even added a reputation 'cleaner' in the Wayward so I figure at some stage there was to more to it all, chalk this up to rushing a deadline.
Watching old vids of FO3 and New Vegas and there were so many ways to make enemies and do people dirty.
Yes its difficult, also the only way to spawn a specific npc in the wayward who you can pay to get back on good terms with them...
I'm not sure if they go openly hostile since so few people have done it, but my understanding was they just become an enemy faction
But if you follow into their quests a bit, and listen to some of their backstory... well... doesn't excuse their behavior, but they _were_ there first. It's kind of their territory. The have a twisted messed up "culture", but they are taking care of their people and living life. That just happens to involve a lot of killing and stealing from everyone else.
I'm kinda chill with the regular raiders now. If I see them fighting some group I like better, I shoot the raiders (even in the back if needed), but otherwise I leave them alone.
Now blood eagles... I step on them like roaches. Kill every single one I see. No excuse, no redeeming features, and they pretty much attack me on sight too, so it's mutual hatred. That solves any moral conflict.
It seems to me it would be more enjoyable if you were forced to choose one faction at a time, and even things like what you wore would change people's perceptions. So for example you could have a neutral character who could do dailies for both facs, but if you went down the path too far with one - you'd get the rewards and perks of that fac at the expense of others. If you wanted to be a hardcore raider, you'd need to roll another character to go all-in with the settlers. Then they could add new content along with factions, for example a moth-man apostle or a military fac.
All this would be in service to a more defined/interesting PVP too in my opion. There would be a reason you're fighting instead of just being a heel capping workshops from casuals.
So... being a 'friend' is more harmful.
