My Computer > select drive > Tools > check disk .... or select drive > properties .. should tell you usage and what space you have left to use. :)

its a brand new 2tb only got 2 games, its 76 that is issue, installed fine on another drive, but that one no go
sounds like something is wrong with the drive maybe its bad sectors or the drive was droped and or just malfunctioning.

can your tell us what type of Drive it is? Disc or SDD? brand, where you got it from, store or online? any other issues which might effect it would be the Format of the drive, is it on a 64 bit or 32 bit file structure. also check that the cables are properly plugged all the way in, sometimes lose connection cable will has this effect an cause error, the other issue could be a faulty cable connection from the mother board to the drive.

i personaly stoped using any spin up discs and use only SSD they are lot faster an less hassle. but issues can always happne, my last issue with a brand new SSD Drive

was it would not format in windows 10 no matter what i did, I had to eventually windows 10 start up an format the drive with a full system installation of windows 10 for it to even work, took about 50 gigs worth of space or something off the 500 gigs, but hey it worked.

you should probly do the same if you haven't already reformat the drive with a new windows install, make sure you pick the right format for the file structure.

I would not recommend installing on an external USB drive. The bus speed will most likely cause lag and issues.
oh nice catch bizaare man i didn't even see he said exterinal

yup reccomended you move file off your disk onto your exterinal and then install the game onto your interinal computer drive, also make sure you install it on a SSD drive or your game load times will be horrible

i had it on an external and just uninstalled and reinstalled, never ever have i had a problem with running the game, runs fine 100+fps no lag. just that new drive didnt like the game
do yourself a favor and just open the external drive and take out the hard drive and connection it directly to your sata connections via a cable to your motherboard, skip the slow usb, its not worth even using.

Where did you get the drive from?

if it was an internet or questionable company that 2tb might actually be less... they've had times where chinese piracy companies have been selling 2 tb drives with less than an actual MB on them, drive scans as 2tb because they tell it too but its nadda in reality...

just saying you might have bought something which only has a fraction of what it claims to

The corrupt disk thing is a Steam issue. Internet search it as it has to do with previous files being corrupt not newly downloaded.

Your hardware is probably fine.
