Atom Store prices WTH
So I been playing the game for a bit. I got it on sale last week. Now I been doing some of the quests. I just finished doing the Brother of Steel story.

Now I got a subscription for mainly the storage issue with collecting loot. Fine. But when I look at the store prices it's insanely high. A power armor skin is 10 dollars or 1000 or more atoms. 10 dollars for a skin color? Are they out of their minds?

A skin should be around 1 or 3 dollars at max. Not 10 dollars to start off. So I get about 1650 atoms per month if I keep my subscription. If I were to get a armor skin mod, there goes those atoms.

I know some people get the subscription for the scrap storage. Then they get enough scrap and turn off the subscription until they need more. Sounds like a viable solution to that.

But holy smoke, all the other stuff in the store is like going to cost you a mortgage or something. I know you get atoms from getting SCORE objectives. I don't really pay attention to that. I just get them from scrapping stuff or killing stuff.

I know that no one is forcing me to buy anything. So let's take that argument out right now. Story expansions I can see them charging 15 to 30 dollars.

To place a new color paint job on my armor or gun should not even reach 10 bucks or higher.

This sounds like I am ranting but I notice the new set of items and I think wow, I can't get any of it unless I spend bank loads of money to get. I also understand this is an online game, but charging high prices isn't going to attract newcomers.

I think my point is that they should lower the prices on the items.

End rant Sorry I had to get that off my chest.

The longer you play the more freely acquired atoms you'll have. The atom store is a newb trap to get a quick score off players who can't wait (FOMO model at work).

After several seasons you'll have hundreds of dollars of digital items free, just costing a time commitment. If you wait most things will be cheaper on sale too.

The fact you want something enough to argue the price is the proof the model works. Be patient young Padawan.
Light wood laminate was on sale, I found that pretty funny.

It is the company that invented horse armor DLC. :Horse:

Congratulations!!!
You figured out BETH just wants your money...
What a supprize it will be when you read the challenge list.
Hint: play 7600?¿?
Lol yeah stay away from the atom shop so expensive and pointless.
Just do the challenges listed when you bring up your map. I'd post you screen shots of all of the stuff I've acquired by playing Adventure without ever purchasing atoms, but it would take up several pages and a good deal of my time. I don't have *all* of the atom shop items by far however I have nearly everything I've wanted from it, sans a few strays.
Trust me, my fellow 76er; Just play.

Agree. And there's a surprising amount of skins/outfits available from events and quests
A cheap Fortnite skin is around 8 USD and a skin in Destiny 2 starts at around the same price. Both of these games can be argued to be rather popular so you could almost consider their transaction model and costs as good baselines.

Seems the pricing in F76 is in line with that baseline for many of its skins and cheaper for many others.

If you are into cosmetics I would say wait for package deals and items about to be cycled out of the store as they are usually offered at a discount.
best way to get atoms is to do in game achivements and season score boards.

i spent my atoms on neat camp stuff mostly, i wasted alot on the vault peices and not really alot of players go into vaults cause its outside the normal world. so that was a bummer, but one of my favorite was the red rocket buildling, and slocum joes donunts
also the glass walls and roofs are a fun one worth spending atoms on.
The fallout 76 store is much more fair in its pricing than many other online stores...Check the Forp-night store or Rode company if you think im wrong the latter of which after spending 10 bucks still cant really buy you one good skin...But that said these stores are not going anywhere just don't buy anything if you truly hate them and play the game for what it is.
wait till you see pubg skin prices and JUST the crates for skins in csgo.... im sure you never seen steam marketplace on skins.... some get into the quad digits. ALL games sell skins at those standard pricing. you must have been out of gaming for awhile... COD is even worse.... thats what the cost is now to keep online games online. server space isnt as cheap as it was in the 90's late 2000s after cities/states started taxing the ♥♥♥♥ out of them. go host some private 10000 player server connector node for a month in a few regions and see what your monthly bills comes out to. doubt your buddies that hook you up for free would bump that bill.

Out of gaming lol. I've been gaming for over 37 years. I don't really play a lot online games or mmo's etc. I have played ESO for a bit but after a thousand hours, I got burnt.

I don't mind spending money for the subscription service but all the other stuff is high way robbery. I will just unlock whatever I can through playing the game and doing the challenges etc. But not spending 10 bucks for the color blue.:praisesun:

i mean idk why you keep quoting eso... like any skin or pet was cheap there....

the average pet... was 3k crowns.... 750 crowns is 7.99 i mean.....

most skins were 500 ( for the usleess ones ) to 700 for low end 1000 for mid range and 1200 for high end.... it was still at least 10$ PER item... if not 20 for most of the higher teir NOT even encluding armor packs.. those start 1500 and go up tot 4000

btw currentt skin dye (blood forged ) in eso... is 1200 crown...

and UNLIKE eso you can aquire the in g ame currency by completing achivements

you should be use to seeign skins at those prices.....

You would be surprised how many atoms you get from just playing the game and not trying to knock out achievements to get them, in just 3 weeks on a fresh account I had earned over 2000 atoms, you could probably get way more if you focused on completing achievements

Yeah the cheapest skin through star wars the old republic comes in at 500 cartel coins when there is a sale going but there is no 500 coin package you can get a 250 coin package for 3 something a 450 coin package for 5 something or 1100 coins for over 10 bucks
well lets talk about marketing for a minute.

They market this stuff for kids who don't know better, parents get it for kids so the kids shut up an stop begging, im sure you remember crying your eye's out for ninja turtle or g.i. joe, maybe you wanted that polly pocket.

Todays scary cause these kids aren't even getting physically tangible objects, instead its over priced data junk. Thinks like fornite skins for 20 dollars a pop are part of the economic blunder thats fallen over the world.

Even then parents aren't really buying the stuff, not to the extent the companies claim, because alot of these video game companies channel the money they profit from back into deceiving the financial lenders they get loans from.

All the bots an fake accounts your see in these games saying they 100's of millions of players is just not legitimet, we have a seen the incompetence of the tech sector, and the inablity for them to handle new games with huge loads of players that don't even reach 100k players.

So company like blizzard/activision doens't have million people playing WOW or COD,

And steam certainly does not have 500,000 csgo players the legitimate reality is that numbers are fudged to make it look good for investors.

Fallout 76 was already scammed an bought out by microsoft so its no longer really realtivant. we just have to behappy they are updating anything on this game. that we are getting free atoms from scoreboard an game achivements and that they have added a little more story an npcs to the game.

Buyer beware is the new 2020 century of gaming. we are told things are good an popular , but reality is steam will lie to you to sell you a 30 year old game, or a really dull an boring game. Such as "Stray" where cat enthusits become a cat and wander a neo Tokyo city scape. "Stray" didn't last 2 weeks, and what happend to the 100k players they had? down to less then 5k and off the steam top 100? Go figure.

They do this with all the games. So just be happy this game has some activity and isn't really a facade, we where all told this game sucks, but many of us found enjoyment an 1000's of hours of game play in fallout 76 so take it with a little salt, sprinkle it on what tastes bad, cause most of the games today are just total garbage and over priced.

Stir clear of paying for addition content on games , skins, items , and if you can't earn them in the game, don't worry about it. The whole Mobile sale scam has caused this industry to become completely greedy trying to over charge players that don't know any better for nothing.

teach your kids and teach yourself what online gaming is today.
