why does the game suddenly think Im overencumbered when I wasnt.

check your perks

it on occasion will remove weight reduction ones
you might have switched reduced weight armour / backpack
you might only have the carry weight while bloodied
it might just be the server taking a second to calculate everything you have and should have

I checked the perks, nothing changed
I never used a bloodied build as I find that tradeoff stupid as frell
its like the game never took away the weight from selling a bunch of stuff so now im stuck at 300 extra weight.
ive also tried closing the game and reopening it and that didnt help
also I run power armor. the excavator for the increased carrying ability.

had to restart my entire computer, but that seems to have helped

You may also have been in a team in which a team member shared a weight-reducing perk then they left the team or stopped sharing that perk. You may also have had a Strength buff from food or drugs that expired, dropping your carry weight by 5 for each point of Strength lost.

I was not, lone ranger perk. I dont team unless that stupid score thing demands it.
and if the food thing was the case, it would only go to my normal, which should have been what it was since I sold everything I was carrying to sell.
as i said, restarting the computer seems to have helped.

I encountered a similar issue like this when my character dies sometimes but it does a slow walk instead of the normal walk speed

Had the same thing happen during Earl (Wendigo Colossus). Died, then respawned in very slow motion, couldn't do anything really- AP meter stayed pegged at zero, wouldn't move at all. I finally ate some Razorgrain Flour to unstick the AP meter.

I have perks for that. I had to restart my computer to get a fix

I have been caught out when my food/water levels have fallen, which can reduce my carry weight.
