I cant access my power armor station

i tried to do the mission that gives you the power armor station plans but whenever I hit E on the station my UI goes blank for a second and pops back up. I cant even access the inventory to put my power armor.
I then bought the plans from a vendor and built my own station and still have the same issue. i moved it around, put it in the center. nothing. i tried in my shelter and outside as well.

I don't do PA but;

Did you place your PA at the station first?

Do you know any plans to make any PA pieces?

Are there any PA pieces on your frame or is it just an empty frame?

Edit; You didn't place the station up against a wall and backwards, did you?

1 - you need to have enough clearance around it for it to work
2 - you need to set down a frame inside it for it to work

i set it in the middle of my shelter and nothing. it wont let me access it to put my chassis in there to mod/create/fix anything. i have the perks to make PA pieces too.

i've had this weird instance someone lost their PA when in my shelters
ofc i felt bad and made a new ultra badass one for them


new people: R means drop and you lose ownership
E is for unloading it before you
so unloading close by a PA-bench and then clicking e on PA workbench does it

edit: and if it doesn't appear, wait 60 seconds
it will return to your INV

What I've found works ok is to walk into the station looking out, like you're about to use it.

Place your PA just outside the forks but so the back is facing into the station. Then craft/modify will work ok.

If your character is in a position when you try to use the station that will cause them to be pulled through any object will lock you up. At worse it'll make the station unusable and say it's in use. I've also had it block me from fast travel. Waiting for the PA to return (had no collect option) didn't fix that, only a relog did.

You place your PA frame on the ground in front of the PA station first. Then you walk up to the station, highlight it's activator and hit E to have your PA station's animation put your PA and you in the correct position to work on it. Your PA has to be Very close to the Front of the station for it to work.

What you posted makes it sound like you think the PA automatically gets removed from your inventory when you interact with the PA station.

im pretty sure you need to complete the garahand mining quest to unlock powerarmor station at your camp. look for flyers at train stations to start the quest.

As per what Mooman says

Walk into the station and turn around, move forward some while looking down and just about seeing the ends of the fork, press E and hold. You should be standing looking at the back of your PA. Look at the frame and the menu should appear and allow you to do what you want.

yup that did the trick!

From my experience , you don’t have to be too precise with the deployment of the PA when you want to work on it. Just place it near the station and it will be moved in to the proper position when you interact with the station,

My issue is when i try to change Excavator to t-45 game glitched. It took forever to get into the t-45 and now won't let me out of it

You got out of your Excavator, deployed your T45 and now it won’t let you out of the T45?

@Bizzarreman That is correct. I'm stuck in the T-45

That’s weird. Have you tried dying? I know there are instances where stuff gets “stuck” and death resets your model.
