Yeah, the microtransactions are really just for cosmetic stuff and you can get a decent bit of the currency for free by just playing so if you ever see something you really want you can usually get it.

If we're talking about Fallout 1st it's not really necessary. I've been playing since launch and I never felt compelled to actually pay for it. Only downside to this is once you start storing so much junk in your stash if you have to start micromanaging what you put into it. If you can handle that, 1st isn't needed to play this game.

amen just buy the game, and don't get suckered into atoms of subscriptions, you can do achivments for a about 3000 atoms over the course of the game.

Depends how important fashion is to you. If you absolutely just have to have a particular look only obtained from FO1st (eg. The Ranger outfit) or any of the recruitment bundles (real money through Steam) then the game won't be worth it without micro transactions.

If fashion isn't an issue you can easily play without ever spending a cent beyond the initial purchase, as other posts have covered.

as a f1st subscriber i'm gonna tell you you don't need it,
BUT in all honesty it is a try/poke to get a semi- P2W in there as an extra cashcow
you don't need F1st to play this game, but it was very low from bethesda to even think the community would
