is the gatling plasma with a beam splitter mod meant to look like a green flamethrower with a range of like 4 metres?

put a beamsplitter on my gatling plasma and its range is terrible and its damage is horrible now. is this meant to happen? the range says 180, but it doesnt attack as far as even a shotgun which ope i checked had a range of 36, so i wasn't sure if this is intended or not

The beam splitter is only worth it for legacies with the explosive effect.

You're better off with the other mod, but its name currently escapes me.

the other one is the beam focuser i think.

when i saw beam splitter, i thought it meant that multiple green glowing balls would be shot out at a slightly reduced range for worse accuracy, not that it would essentially be a worse version of the miniguns shredder because it uses ammo
