Low FPS/ Low GPU/CPU utilization
I know there is no fix, but still i have to ask cause im getting sick of the low framerate (45 or less), esp on crowded events. Is there a fix? Does it take a 6ghz cpu to run it fluently along with a super high speed RAM?

Im using 9900k, stock (tried 5ghz, no difference), 32gb ram XMP @ 3200mhz and rtx2080, installed on a samsung evo ssd.

That's crazy I have almost the same specs as you just probably different mobo, ssd and ram, but mines also 3200mhz. I'm getting like 60-120 frames just running around I haven't gone to an event with my fps on but I'll check it out next time one spawns for you. I'm running High on everything except shadows and everything else is turned all the way up except for grass actor fade. I do have some stuff overriding settings in my geforce control panels, like gsync forcing 144 refresh rate on my computer applications. Also no need to overclock the 9900k because when its set to default (boost) it will just boost the core clocks as necessary, so there's no need to have it running full speed all the time. :caststrength:

EDIT: Should add I'm at 1080p I know a lot of people don't use this resolution anymore but it's what I know and it runs well on all my games.

OK During the invaders event I got average of 45-50 fps with an all time 99th% low of 25 fps. It just works! So yeah looks like that is average-ish for our system, better optimized than marvels avengers beta was at least!

1080P here as well, preset was set to mediem, then maxed out everything but shadow distance to low and also left fade settings to medium-defaults. Mobo is Aorus PRo z390 but i dont think it matters at all. It clearly is a CPU bottleneck, since in most cases the GPU is alseep as most of the cpu cores. Not that those 1-2 cores that get hammered , really run at 99% either. Just 70sh or so (probably the monitoring software cant display those tiny hammering spikes on the cores, thats why).

Yeah I was running at 70% cpu fluctuating and a rock solid 50% gpu, this is just with nvidias tool not a proper tool but good enough for this. Well hopefully this helped, game could desperately use a dlss update so we can make use of those tensor cores.

I gave up..... 45fps ryzen 5900x and rx 6800 @2k. With a 144hz monitor it just looks like slow motion even with freesync running.

sounds like your suffering from some texture issues, you might wanna consider droping your texture from ultra to high and see how the game preforms, also disable your steam auto updates and back ground downloads, there is also a settings for shared downloading where steam will use your system to distrubt updates, this will really crush your preformance , low bandwidth steam store as well.

As a side note, you can really push the graphic fidelity by using DSR (which bugs the in-game cursor in FA76) or from NVCP, forcing x8 AA. Makes everything much more defined at virtually no GPU power cost.

Did you changed Fallout76Prefs.ini iPresentInterval=0
It fix all Performance Problems for me, 60-90 fps 1070 and a old 2011-3 System with 3.1Ghz

rich people issues, I'm happily gaming on my pc with parts 5 years old :VBCOOL:

No matter what hardware you have the game will go in the 40 fps range during crowded events. The engine is not optimized enough to take full advantage of most hardware during those times.

Add dumb in there. I'm gaming with a computer pushing at least 7 years old and I don't have any problems running any of these games at either 1080 or 2k.

It's not just 76. You go to just about any video game forum and people running new cards and new cpus are having all kinds of issues.

Actually, After doing the INI fix like people suggested, I hit 200 fps vs the 45 I had lol.

BUT.. down side?

Graphical glitches and shadow issues. Typical fallout stuff if you unlock the frame rate and such.

Got a really good Fallout76prefs. ini / Fallout76Custom .ini if you want. You can customize it to your liking.

This ini file will delete shadows, all DOF, fix LODs and alot of stuff, you can check it for yourself, just remember to back up your current ini files if you dont like my config.
