Unlimited Scrap Box Really Needs To Be Removed From Fallout 1st
Look I played Fallout 76 awhile back and had Fallout 1st. I loved the game, but literally did all the quests available at the time and didn't really have anything else I wanted to grind out. I have tried coming back a few times to see if I would like it again, but having all the scrap in the Scrap Box and not being able to store my current scrap really ruins the game for returning players.

You can get by as a new player because you haven't really used the feature yet, but when you get as far into it and have as many items / scrap it makes the game literally impossible to play without subscribing to Fallout 1st.

Every time I try and come back I give up. I know I am not the only one to have done this. With the new things that were added to Fallout 1st please just move the scrap box to the base game already..... I want to know if I want to get back into the game without shelling $12.99 to try it again for a day.

You don't need all that junk, you really don't.

If they remove it from behind first and put it on the base game, they will have to come up with something to replace it so people will keep subscribing .

And then people will insist that it be brought to the base game.

I agree the scrap box is great, and almost essential to play.

But basically you want something for nothing. If you want it... then pay for it.
If you're not going to pay for it, then don't worry about it. The very fact you want it shows it's worth it.

This is like complaining about first class air service. "oh my god, the people in first class get gourmet food, and hot towels, and comfortable seats! no way I can fly on an airplane in economy, since I know what the first class people get now. I should have all the first class treatment, but without paying for any of it".

And before anyone goes off on a whining spree about how greedy bethesda is, the whole scrap box thing was taking from Elder Scrolls Online (ESO). Which is made by zenimax, under license from bethesda, but it's not really bethesda. They took a lot of features from ESO (a more succesful live service game) and folded them into Fallout 76 in order to prop up FO76. The unlimited storage box for raw resources is just one of those things.

You can just offload weight to other characters/ accounts?

Dude. Throw that stuff away.

Scrapbox is literally the only reason to keep first through off seasons. People who like hording and want extra skins sub specifically to have access to that. Please stop trying to take more features from a game that already lacks updated later story content to keep senior players returning.

The scrap box is literally the main reason to get the subscription. Same as ESO's subscription. Its not going anywhere. But the nice part is, you can just run it for a month, stock up on everything, then cancel it and still use your stockpile.

I only use it on months I know I'm going to be playing heavily. Which is like one month a year, maybe two. I can dabble the rest of the year and not miss much.

How? I have never made a second character.

Making one is really easy! Just get out of the vault before you quit out.
Wait you bought the sub with just one character and no mules?

** Zenimax Marketing Department, I may loathe you; feel betrayed, lied to, let down, generally harangued by the false representations of modern Beth products but I gotta hand it to you... you could totally sell freezers in the arctic.

Don't worry. They will NEVER remove scrap box, so deal with it.
BizarreMan Oct 7, 2022 @ 6:34am
At the main menu you will see an option called "character". You can have up to 5 per account. Just select an empty slot and you will start the game back in the vault.

That also allows you to switch between them.

Be aware though when attempting to pass stuff to other characters. You must be on your own private world and swap characters quickly, or on an Adventure world with a friend so you can be assured of getting back into the same world to pick up the stuff.

Otherwise it's all gone from you forever.

Yeah okay. After they remove all the explosive energy weapons.

Just because another company is doing it doesn't make it less greedy. It's paywalling QOL to monetize the players frustration. And yes I pay for FO1st for the scrap box.

The subscription is basically renting the server space to track all that junk, can't go giving everyone unlimited storage, that would get very expensive very fast server side, with no offset to the cost, the game would die very quickly, it is a business after all, the only goal is profit.
