Is there another viable storage solution besides paying for the scrap box?
I've reached the limit for my stash and I havent even reached mid-game yet let alone endgame content.

There has to be another way to manage your stash besides a greedy paywall

buy and sell at vendors what you may not use or want, or get 1st. i have it and horde the crap out of it to the tune of 47,000 lbs and going up.

Make sure to spend time bulking your materials at a tinkers bench, it greatly helps manage your space, you will need a fair amount of plastic to do so

Did they change the weights of bulking? I seem to remember only lead and I think aluminum reduced the weight when bulking. Everything else was exactly the same weight.

Sell, scrip or scrap every piece of equipment you're not using or not planning to use in the future. Also, people tend to hoard too much scrap/chems/etc than they really need so don't worry about selling that stuff too. People were getting along just fine before the Scrap Box ever became a thing.

I ended up getting 1 month of Fallout 1st because my Stash Box was full and 1K of the 1.2K limit was junk items. Figured I'd put it all in the Scrap Box and then not renew 1st the next month.

Now I'm somehow sitting on probably 10,000 pounds of Scrap in the Scrap Box lmao.

And even with the Junk going in the Scrap Box, I still find I'm often fighting the micromanaging of items on my character vs. items in my Stash Box cause the 340 pounds on my character goes further than the 1,200 pounds in the Stash Box thanks to perk cards and the games UI doesn't actually list the difference even when putting it in the box... it only states the altered amount it'd weigh when it's on your character. So you'll see it say that something weighs 5 pounds and then you'll put it in the Stash and it'll take up 30 pounds. >_<

Either way, the biggest portion of time spent in the game for me has largely been micromanaging inventory to maintain stuff. Usually it's because I'm waiting for Legendary Scrip to refresh so I can scrap a few hundred pounds of things.

Unfortunately can't sell stuff to vendors cause the 1,400 daily cap limit is easily reached just with a portion of my Purified Waters.

And this is all without really keeping anything that doesn't have it's use. I quit storing weapons & armor for "different builds" or "certain use cases"... and instead created a second character to use as a "mule" for storing such things.

Most of the bulk items don't actually save any space at all for the record.

Scrap box only stores junk, and there are tons of other things that can only be stored in the stash box that will eventually take up all your space: aids, gunpowder, glowing mass, hardened mass, legendary modules, not to mention all the unique weapons and armor you want to keep. I had to buy a second copy of Fallout 76 (while on sale of course) to get a second account to store some of the things I want to keep. There are quite a few unique items that you can't craft yourself because they have no plans, such as Final Word, Blade of Bastet, etc. You lose them, you lose them for good.

If you’re having to store it on a mule is it really something you need? Unless you’re going to be trading it.

you can have 5 character in the game , So what i do is , I play on my main and use the other 4 as mules to store stuff
Dr. Nim Saj Oct 4, 2022 @ 3:45pm
-mule it to other characters
-find someone who stashes it for you in their P2W scrapbox

"greedy paywall" .... sure.

In a perfect world, all servers run with no-cost-electricity. All developers work just for fun, because they don't need any money to be paid, because any food is free. ...

We don't have this perfect world right now. Online games have to be paid in one way or another. I would say it's greedy to want everything for free ...

They're already paid with dozens of millions in profit from the base game price AND their partnerships with other subscriptions like playstation and xbox

You're consciously ignoring price gouged exploitation and presenting it like these multi billion dollar corporations are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tiny tim.

Get perspective.

its ok guys, im with the guy you have to make profits if you sell a game (product) to ppl, but the problem with scrapbox, for my point of view, they are selling you a "drug", its a quality of life improvement, but, if you have it, you can do less micromanaging, so you can go for the fun and not waste your time checking your stash weight all times, and if you stop paying you lose all your stuff aka your time spent storing those scrap.

If you have a full stash you're not crafting enough. The in-game economy encourages spending resources, not just hogging them. If you're not actively crafting or saving for a build session the you only really need to keep a few units of the items you need for equipment repair. Then, just drop or bulk and sell the rest. If it turns out you need something it's much easier to find in the world, which has infinite storage, than it is to keep the stuff using up your stash box.

This.

Knowing what junk scraps into and where to find it is INFINITELY better than blinding hauling everything to your stash and storing hundreds of pounds of worthless crap. This goes for all weapons, ammo, magazines, bobbleheads, etc. It's all worthless crap if you aren't currently using it or quickly selling it through your vendor.

I would be crafting, if the game would give me screws and aluminum. Or if I ddidn't have to pay either thousands of caps, or real world money for any decent building plans and items.
