legacy weapons?
Hi,

I'm new to this game and heard of "legacy weapons" - so what are legacy weapons and how can I get them?

Thanks & greetings.

Legacy guns are traditionally energy guns that shoot explosive rounds. Also, new to the Legacy category are Double ammo capacity guns and Explosive Pepper Shakers.

Basically they are weapons that used to spawn in the game and Bethesda stopped them from spawning. They are Not illegal to have, you just can't get them as loot or event rewards anymore.

Players that have them will sometimes trade them(in-game) for an arm, leg or your first born child. Actually, you can make trades for them if you have rare outfits and or God Roll weapons.

*Please don't ask what a God Roll weapon is, there's too many to post.

Honestly, I think all gatling weapons should get a major buff. People underestimate them. NO other gun should out damage them, period. Besides a mini nuke, naturally. Nothing in the wasteland would hold a candle to even a normal minigun. Earl and SBQ included. It would quite literally liquify them, then set their chunks on fire.

I would also like to have the best of the best, but this is unfortunately not possible. I am satisfied with what I have, which was only the result of an exchange. But since it seems like something illegal, at least so I'm understanding from the various posts, correct me if I'm misinterpreting, let me understand
Oh, I just think minigun weapons in general should be buffed across the board. Besides maybe the gatling gun, since it doesn't fire 6000 RPM like a minigun does. I'm just basing it off of its real world counterpart. Nothing should be able to withstand one. It would turn power armor in to Swiss cheese. Anything with flesh would be liquefied within a matter of seconds.

Edit: And that's just a normal ballistic version. I can't imagine the overwhelming power of a plasma minigun. I doubt you could actually hold one in your hands without being incinerated in the process of firing it.

Another reason legacies are hated is that a lot of ones being sold for real money are actually just duped copies. They dupe them by basically crashing the servers. When you see a server "stuttering", and constantly freezing, it's a duper hard at work trying to crash the server so they can make more copies to sell. People LOVE the dupers because of this... and by extensions, the duped legacies they sell.

Second thing is, some of the legacies have some visual effects that literally cause a whiteout on screen. Explosions so big, that you can't see anymore. Some players deliberately use these to grief other players. Forget trying to kill a boss, you won't even be able to see them (and the legacy is going to kill them in 5 seconds anyways).

I think my first character has a Legacy weapon or two. Don't usee her anymore though.

i have this theory (and i could be wrong)
that if you can transfer them by trading, BUT are not able to drop on the floor, they're a hacked weapon just made to look like a legacy
(a fake legacy if you will)

Legacy weapons are weapons that have legendary effects that can't be obtained anymore. Some weapons stops being legacy when they can get the effect again.

The dragon was a legacy for a while if it had explosive effect. But now they added it again so its not a legacy anymore.

Found a nocturnal explosive tesla rifle, got two good legacies for it because it was rare.

Would a Vampire Gauss shotgun be considered a "Legacy" weapon? It's an energy weapon with explosive damage...

No because the explosive effect is part of the base gun effects. And you can roll those guns still.

Legacy energy explosives also have a different calculation on their explosive effects from the way Gauss Shotguns calculate their explosive damage effects, which they were planning on changing at some point who knows when.

Yeah...and also this. Crafted under energy weaps, uses energy ammo, has ballistic damage. Gauss Shotguns are just weird.

Eh, makes sense though. The energy part is propelling a ballistic projectile to far faster speeds than gunpowder ever could. It's essentially a rail gun.

Oh I know. Unfortunately, the small ones are so weak right now. It's basically an elaborate pellet gun. An awesome one though. The big rail gun that was developed by the military on the other hand, is absolutely devastating. Not sure if they're actually in use or not, or still in the prototype phase. The amount of energy it puts in to the projectile will cause the metal projectile to weld itself to the barrel if it isn't fired correctly.

I think old Dragons are still legacy because the newer ones have nerfed range and nerfed damage. So if you have a old one, do not reroll its legendaries because it will reset the weapons stats to the new ones.
