forging a legend now fully broke ?

forging a legend ,i just cant get the quest to update you have to kill 6 animals or creatures so far im up to nine but the quest is stuck on five and i cant get it further . this quest was always a bit jinky but now its fully broken . anyone got a clue how to jump this quest on . please .

Are you doing different types of animals?

the killing blow needs to be counted while the weapon is held

you can shoot the enemies then switch to the weapon

the problem is a lot of people run around kill the enemies then switch to a gun

the server lag then goes oh hes got a gun equipped that must have killed it

and the reverse you shoot them and switch to the weapon and it goes

I just did this quest the other day. its bugged AF but just keep at it and it will eventually count the kills. You'll probably have to kill 2 or 3 for every one it registers. Remember to kill a) different types of creatures - I think I did robot, ghoul, small animal, canine, radstag, and insect, and b) deal the killing blow with the sword.

yes its a quest iv done so many times been playing right back to launch and it was always a bit twitchy but this is odd now up to about 14 creatures double treble kills on each scorch feral human robot dog rabits mole rats bramin all sorts of flying criters but after 5 the counters just stopped the crafting machines says iv completed the quest but i still havnt got the reqirment to craft the sword he he ,this blooming game is wild but its bethesda what would we do without them lol .

well it did ding at last on a robot something i did many times with no luck but i had to go on a private server to get it to work so im asuming it was lag screwing around with the quest .anyhoo thanks to everyone who gave advice . stay safe and enjoy your 76
