3050 RTX
Just bought 3050 RTX, but the game is still performing badly. If anyone with similar card can spare config file with decent framerate yet still good looking picture, please?

in nvida expierience you can click on optimize settings, should run better

The GPU is only half the battle.
At least 500Gb ssd drive. With at least 50+GB free space to render in...
Prefer MoBo should have no onboard graphics.
Check your CPU temps.
Fans should bring in as much air as you push out.
Bottom front in/ Top back out.

This may sound unrelated and odd, but I had a significant performance boost by updating network drivers (not same GPU though).

If you have old Realtek drivers it may be causing memory conflicts and slowing down the system.

I run off a wi-fi expansion card but the same should be for on board ethernet as lots of PCs use Realtek chips.

If you're familiar with device manager it's easy enough to let Windows find updated drivers.

CPU GPU RAM SSD MOBO ECT...
All must be decent...A GPU is not gonna be your ultimate savior
sure it will grant you better performance but if you lack in other areas it will end up hindered from its true potential.

If you are asking for tech support, you need to post your specs; otherwise, you aren't going to get the help you need.

recommend checking your documents / mygame/ fallout 76 folder, uncheck the write protection on it, then log into the game and update your graphic settings to high instead of ultra. then reboot the game, this will fix the settings issues with it not updating right, try the game at high settings before you goto ultra. recommend everyone unwrite protect the fallout 76 folder in

Documents/my games/fallout 76

Cheers and good luck.

Creation Engine games are all hard-synced at 60 FPS. If you're experiencing any stutters and framerate issues, and you perhaps use a high refresh monitor running at 144hz... for example, go into your windows advanced display settings, and switch your monitor refresh rate value to 120 hz. The game will run more smoothly in multiples of 60. ie 120. You can also lock the framerate to 120 in your nvidia control panel, if you know how to do that... but you MUST set your monitor refresh rate to 120 as well. The nvidia setting is different/not the same as monitor refresh rate. This is a weird quirk with Bethesda Game Studios games that use this engine (all of them) ...and it's a quirk most people never hear about, and can keep people running in circles. Give it a shot and let me know if it helped. I'm curious if this helps you. Then again, maybe you have a 60hz monitor, and none of this matters for you.

PS: I also run the game in fullscreen, and after I load the game, I alt-tab out, and alt-tab back in. This also seems to (for some dumb reason) help sync the games frame rate with my monitors refresh rate.

This!!! You may have a bottleneck, a good gpu does not mean instant performance. Post your specs or you will just get a lot of speculation.

First using someone else's game configuration will only help the graphics -if that since everything else could be different.

If your CPU, Ram, Network among other things is different your results may vary.
Giving your specs is a must to avoid this wild guessing and wild suggested solutions that could or could not help.

First, thanks everyone for the response.
Here are the specs, I believe they are sufficient.
Other games recieved a solid preformance boost after GPU update.
I had 1050Ti before and had to play with really awful graphic settings for FO76 to sustain 60 FPS.
I have framerate locked on 60 for everything.

Made a few tests:
with in-game graphic settings set to Low
CPU load ~50%
GPU 50-80%
FPS 38-45 in Foundation and Mire
I don't understand why not all the PC resources are in use =(

At least part of it is the CPU -its below minimum specs:
https://help.bethesda.net#en/answer/43433
Minumum: Intel Core i5-6600k 3.5 GHz
Recommended: Intel Core i7-4790 0 3.6 GHz
Both of those CPUS came out in 2014 and 2015 respectfully.

Your CPU is from 2012 and is actually 200 Mhz under preferred clock speed.
Your CPU is running at 3.40GHz

IF you were to over clock it to 3.6 GHz you probably could see game improvement but Intel has a bad track record of shorting the life span a great deal when overclocking multi-year old CPU's.

I believe its a bottleneck via the CPU as stated previously but it could be either a single or multi-core bottleneck -that is a little beyond my wheelhouse.
Literally the GPU is too powerful for the CPU to fully utilize.
I believe I have that right I sometimes get the G/CPU bottleneck backwards.

But don't feel bad I am worse than you -I am playing at 1600x900 on a AMD FX 8370 @4100Ghz with a GTX 970 with lowest settings and it is a sluggish experience at times but it works so I am content.

Either learn how to OC in bios.
Or use InTel Turbo Boost.
Research how much you can OC with YOUR equipment...

You really need a 500GB SSD, C drive.
Your 10 years behind learning how to Max your desktop for sustained gaming performance.
76 requires more support from all areas than most games.
HUGH detailed landscapes.
HUGH detailed shadows.
HUGH detailed lighting/reflection/glimmer...
HUGH detail in HUGH battles...

You need processing power.
Rendering space in both GPU and CPU...
You need less choke points.
It's like a Firetruck driving all the time.
It can't get to where it's going fast if there are too many choke points.
Northbridge.
Southbridge.
Onboard graphics.
The rest has been mentioned...

My system is tweaked just for gaming.
Spent a year researching and finding all that I have to run any game.
Tried to future proof my rig.
My son just built a new rig.
Spent 3500, kept old 2080 SuperGPU, Monitor...
No game can even push his rig past half ability...

Get to work:steamhappy:

remember to back up your Fallout76Prefs.ini
