I found this on the webs, I dunno if it's been nerfed yet:
"arty strike, try equipping a weapon with the instigating legendary effect. It works with grenades (I can only vouch for Nukas but I imagine it works for other grenades as well), so it might work with arty too. And I guess it doesn’t hurt to try? Right?"
"I know that CAMP Arty is mostly just a decoration but it can do good damage. I did a series of tests and apparently, the damage done was highest on my "Bloodied" character."
Ah, a fellow world of tanks player I presume judging by the use of "Arty" in your paragraphs. Hat tip to you and thank you.
I played around with it for a time. I had a camp at the Devil's Backbone location which was situated over the water between bridge and cliff. Stuck an artillery piece on the roof. With it, I was able to hit the front area of West Tek, Huntersville and The Thorn. See in game map to get an idea of the range.
It will soften up targets or kill them outright if you get lucky on the grouping. It's not something that will wipe out all the enemies in an area unless you get REALLY lucky. It's largely a gimmick, imo.
When you build the artillery piece, there will be a crate next to it. The crate will have 10 artillery smoke grenades in it. Chuck a smoke in the area you want the artillery piece to fire and wait a moment. After a short delay, you'll hear incoming artillery fire and it'll pound that area where you dropped smoke. If you are too far away, it will say something like: "Target out of artillery range".
I haven't bothered with multiple pieces, but I've been told that multiple artillery pieces will extend the area hit as well as the duration of salvo. I didn't bother with multiple pieces since I was already close to budget limit.
2) Not that much, i mean at lower levels vs like normal ghouls or raiders or such its pretty decent/good damage anything eles and it kinda blows
3) Not that i know of no
