I unlocked a terminal in a CAMP

It was not colored red so I thought it was safe to unlock. Apparently not because someone came by and killed me. So I have now learned to NEVER unlock anything in a CAMP. I must have lost something but I can't find it. What did I lose?

I lock most everything.
Working on the achievement!
But there is much that can be taken at my camp.
So it's 50/50.
(much better odds than in the game)

*I have one locked door for play preferences but I leave it open for this reason; silly but I don't particularly want anyone incurring a bounty accidentally. If they close that door they messin' with my employee break area, tho...

It was most likely the terminal on the ammo creator, or collection. People lock those because otherwise strangers can modify your settings and craft or collect things you don’t want or need.

And never unlock somethings in a workshop area, until you're 100% sure it's not owned ... !!!

I will continue to steal other peoples popcorn as long as its unlocked. Free popcorn and free pre-war food.

Okay, I won't any more. But do you lose anything from being killed? I did not see anything missing from my inventory. I do not know how many caps I had, so maybe some of them were lost. Not sure if I lost any experience, I know I didn't lose a level.

Nothing if you don't have junk on you. Always manage your inventory and store your junk into the stash/scrap box when it's possible ... .

There's "Recycle Kits" too that come handy when you have valuable junk that you don't want to loose and you're unable to store it fast enough, in certain situations ... .

There was another player in the camp and that gave him the opportunity to use the point-and-laugh emoji, which honestly was pretty funny.

That's why I never lock any containers because more often than not someone opens it by mistake. If I really want to lock something, I use a keypad-locked door, available in this plan: https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Plan:_Powered_gates . Players won't know the code (randomized every time the door is crafted) and won't open it, and if they do open it it's not a crime. Everybody's happy.

also equip some eyeglasses and bathrobe and slippers while reading a book awaiting inevitable demise

me personally i tend to capture a workshop and quickly place a tower of stairs with a potty cabinet on top
(big letters saying: come and get it boys )
