Can players steal our items when we die?
I was killed by an NPC close to someone camp! I spawn back a little further than my last death! I saw the bag of items to go recuperate on the map at my place of death! Went there, but when I arrive, no more bag with my items? Is it possible the other player stole it, as it was close to his camp?

only scraps

You only drop your junk and scrap..But that does have some importance. And yes they can loot it. Stop and scrap your junk and put all your scrap in your storage chest so your not carrying around a big bunch of it.

No. Only the junk items you are carrying at the time.

Make sure you have pacifist mode on in the settings if you are not interested in fighting other players. If your loot bag was gone then yes, it was likely taken. Common for this to happen in PvP as the junk you drop is the only thing the other player can loot from you. If you are going to engage in PvP store your junk before you do.

You drop just the scrap items you have on you when you die and yes anyone can pick it up some people have a mod the creates a highlight of player drop bags, what makes hidden death bags or players dropping items in hidden spots easier to find so beware if you so happen to die near a player base there is a chance they can just scoop up your bag in sections of seeing the highlight if they have a mod.

You do not however drop any junk in Events unless you died just as the event ended but overall if you die in a event with say many players in the event you don't have to worry about a player taking it as you keep all the junk you had on you.

Likewise, if you are walking around and see a bag sitting on the ground, you can pick it up. As others have said it will have only junk or scraps in it. If you see a bag in someone's CAMP, take it because it might have something cool in it. CAMP owners sometimes leave bags sitting around. I picked one up that had ten fusion cores and a three star laser rifle in it.

A good tip, as the others players say, if you die you will drop all your scrap, so if you have something valuable on your character.. cough.. cough.... stable flux... always store it in your chest, and then continue playing without fear.

Another thing, don't pick up any junk until you have retrieved your junk bag ... .

Like that, if you die again, your junk bag will stay untouched.

If you have pick up new junk items and die again , your junk bag will be only with the new junk items, you loose your 1st try to retrieve it ... .

umm unless they was a update that change it that i am not aware of then fair enough but as i know this is not true.

all it does by dying again while picking up new junk before getting your old is replacing the waypoint of your death, meaning if you know were you died the first time you can actually collect the junk you lost on your 1st death as it would be still there but, yes they will be no indication to were the bag actually is so you will have to go by memory, what shouldn't be too hard to do.

Also player bags do disappear i will admit i don't know how long but i think its around a hour so yes you got like a hour or longer if i am wrong to re pick that first death junk bag back up.

Yeah, this is an important tip. I lost a whole bunch of flux when I was new, and didn't know other players could take your stuff when you die. Honestly, flux should probably be "Misc" instead of "Junk". :cozybethesda::cozyfallout4:

FC, player bag disappear faster than that, I think it happen when game start to be confused. At around level 15, coming back from a mission I just did, 4 supermutant attack the camp just after I had scrap all my items! Not only they destroyed my camp. But I also lost the 3 bag of the 1st 3 died, as I was trying to take whay was in bags, as I fought them! I died 4 times before killing them! And at 4th died, the 1st 3 bags just disappear from map! Now, I know, I should not try to take back the bags, and just fight, after the fight, take back the bag! T11XJI1U16MPYQ4T

Actually, it is still where you dropped it but it is no longer marked. You have to remember where you dropped it.

Yes. Can confirm this. Your original death bag will still be there, the map marker will simply point to the latest one not the previous ones.

As I was fighting the supermutant at my camp. And I always died while trying to retrieving a bag, all bags where less than 10 feets from each other. At, some point I can see 4 bags, But at my 4th death, just 1 bags remain, and it has just 4 or 5 itmes in it, out of the 50 junk items I gathered on mission.

If you have a flame thrower, try using it against Super Mutants. My napalm flame thrower will take them out in a couple seconds, if you are facing two or three it will get them all at once. It is not a long range weapon, you have to get close.
