Armor Repair
Guys, I have lots of adhesive and scrap but the workbench repair on the bench is ALWAYS greyed out, I have advanced armor perk and I'm not sure what is wrong, I can repair at the weapons bench ok. I'm wondering if there is one specific item I'm missing, but the game doesn't tell you.

It could be that you are missing one of the rarer materials to repair. I think at some point armors begin to require Ballistic Fiber as well. So Adhesive and Scrap may not be enough to repair higher level stuff...

What item are you trying to repair? It should behave the same as the weapon bench.

It should tell you, the level of perk you need should be in upper right. The materials you require should be shown once you hit the bench repair even if you don't have the required items.

Hi Lednard, nope I don't see any of that stuff on the screen. A lv 50 Sturdy Metal Left leg, press T inspect/repair Standard/No Misc/No Paint and only the option for repair kits show up, workbench repair greyed out. No sign on the screen of the level of perk you need or the materials required. I can't afford repair kits all the time as I'm lvl 51 and not long started. :/

Do the SBQ event or Earle event. You get improved repair kits for free just for being there. Never buy them.

Also basic repair kits are sometimes free in the Atom shop.

press T good so far then follow up with pressing R that takes you to the actual repairing with scrap option

What andrew8j4brown said.

Also how can you even be level 50+ without knowing this? xD

Level 50 is still a newb? Especially if it's their first run? You don't even need all the features and options 76 offers to play many variations of builds.
Try unequipping your perks and reseting them. Make sure the applicable perks are actually equipped.

Any armor over level 30 requires Ballistic Fiber to repair.

just a little tip
in your pipboy under Junk: click "c"
this shows you the components your junk contains

clicking spacebar on one of the components puts a magnification glass next to it

helps during adventure when you hover over materials in the world

Solely depends on the players. One has to fire a nuke to start these events.
