Buried Treasure bugged

Two days trying to do this quest now, restarted so many times I lost county. Please help, I was having so much fun till this.

Johnny doesn't start the first conversation, the cardkey doesn't start the next sequance, when getting into the second room the door is bugged open and the intercom won't work, the laser grid gets bugged and I can't pass through, ect, ect, ect. I keep getting further but it will just bug out again and again. %100 I've restarted 30+ times and this is one of my last main missions I have.

Wow that's actually quite a lot of problems, 0___0 due to it having a lot of problems not just the one or two and you claim to of tried 30+ times shows it hasn't really been a one off like most mission that bug in this game, i did some digging to help and found out there has been like a ton of such such reason to why such part of the mission isn't working, this research i've found is from 2 years to last year as seems like you're now the most recently report that i could find, not sure if any of this will be any useful for you but, go read the comments of these links provided and see what one might help you out if there is any.

Now if still you can't pass even with trying some of these ways to avoid all these problems that they talk about, then i would recommend you sending a ticket report and marking it down as can't progress in the ticket menu before submitting it, just cause sounds very much a big problem that should be fixed, maybe the update broke that mission? idk when you started, if it was before or after the big update came around but, also some people seem to be lucky some have said yeah super unlucky to get this mission done to get everything alined perfectly so it might just have to end up being pure luck to get it done hopeful that shouldn't be the case after all you said you've already done it quite lot of times, so sadly this is all the info i can give for you and advise on beating the mission.

Completed Buried Treasure and the achievement propped and I exited the game. Upon entering the game, Secrets Revealed is back up as if I did not collect the gold. If I return to Meg with the gold, will that correct this bug?

I just checked and I do not have the bullion! I will have to do the annoying quest over again. That is a crappy bug.

Anyone know what happened so it does not happen again? Thank you.

The quest reset to the "Talk to the man behind the glass" part of the quest line, so not the entire quest.

Several years later, and this bug is STILL not fixed. I'm glad I got this game on sale, if I'd have paid full price I'd have been very angry.

The bugs ruin an otherwise fun game. I mean, this is beyond ridiculous. This bug has been around for so many years, yet it's never been corrected? What are the devs doing? Oh, that's right, working on more stuff for the Atom shop. Thanks E.A., I mean Bethseda.

Since someone has just Necro this thread *cough*. Might as well quickly add bit of useful help before this thread likely to be locked if not soon then later since its already been necro now. I did get to the Buried Treasure my self some time after the last comments on this thread before the necro, and i indeed counter issues myself.

Only way i found to get through this buggy mess of all the help i could find on the matter of this pretty shocking questline with how broken this one single questline is compared to the rest of the game. That the only way i did so was to keep going back to the exit (aka the entrance you come in) leave and then return back into the vault.

It seems to reset the script of the quest and you may notice some times your progress got bit erased where you got to re do part of objective again, but it does reset it, and so with enough luck on your side and some back and forward to the entrance you can get pass any time the game refuses to let you progress in this quest to reach the end and complete it. This seems like the true only way to do this quest if it bugs out on you.


Just don't leave the server your in, if you do that will always fully reset the questline back to the beginning no matter how far you got through it, but as said if you do this trick you can slowly chip away at reaching the end of the quest if you have problems since some people are lucky to not have a problem with this questline.
