What is the best melee weapon?

Melee Unarmed weapons will do the most damage, as strength gives you a damage buff. Usually bear claw or death claw are popular choices but I prefer the brass knuckles.
For one-handed; Combat knife for speed, careful of skinning it as some will actually make it perceptibly slower. Plasma cutter for power.
Two handed has a lot of varying options for essentially same results. **Upgraded Vampire's Buzz Blade (one star legendary) with maxxed slugger perk and tank build will get you through 98% of the game, no problems.

i found a legendary grog 2h axe , with better swing speed and more dmg when u have more hp, it say 170 dmg , and i have 0 perks for melee , just 12 str for reduce carry items

but i really like the power Glove , medium speed and good dmg.

the most powerful i've seen is the powerfist but i dont know what stats it had, i just know i saw him hit one time on a 100 and it went kersplat! the flaming war glaive with instigating can do over 500 consecutively but it piddles on greater bosses

I really like that Free legendary power fist we got in the BoS story.

I like Unarmed, be it Gauntlet, Power Fist or Deathclaw Gauntlet. Vampire, AA or Bloodied don't matter much to me as long as it got that sweet 40% Swing Speed. Really fun.

The 'best' melee weapons are the ones that have fire mods. Now that Friendly Fire is working correctly again it can be used to heal defended NPCs (or friendly players).

Sheepsquatch club/staff, Plasma Cutter, Power Fist, Shiskebab etc. Some are event plans but most robot vendors will sell a fire mod for some melee weapon.

Don't think there is a best as each of the three melee categories each have multiple weapons that can be good.

Unarmed - Powerfist ,Deathclaw gauntlet, bear arm.
Two handed - Warglave , Sheepsquatch staff , Tenderizer, Grognak axe, Buzblade ,Pitchfork
One handed, Plasma cutter, Sheepsquatch club, assaultron blade , shiskebab.

Just want to point you that with a rank 3 in the incisor perk the armour reduction would be 125%.
