How important is Intelligence really?
Hey Vault Boys and Girls. I'm kinda new but I'm digging the stealth archer play style. I read that I can get more experience by pumping into intelligence but will it really make a big difference in level up speed or can I just leave it at 5 for crafting ?

My stock response...

Abusing int can get you from 0-250 in a little over an hour as a new character on an established account during a 2x exp weekend

Not as fast for others, but post level 1000 - 159880 per level
1-45 total is 160160

I can gain 4-6 levels in a non double weekend rad rumble and get one per run of westtek (~5 minutes) now

if I tweeked a new character up he would be at level 50 inside 15 minutes easy and from then on it just starts going up exponentially with exp gain (due to scaled enemies) up to level 100 when it becomes equal to my quad figure guy

That said, int is pretty essential to any long term plan of playing or QoL things

Munchies
Cranberry Relish + exp
Gourd Soup +perception
Brain Bombs +Mad Intelligence
Company Tea +Mad AP regen
Blight Soup +crit
Tato juice +ap
Steeped Fern Flower Tea +str

20 Base int (now I have perk slots I did one as a max exp one, 15 base and 5 legendary int)
15 Unyielding prefix effect
+5 +1 int armour major effect
+5 berry mentats
+Live and Love 3 magazine (for the food bonus)
+11.25 from bombs
+3 Casual shielded underarmor - https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Shielded_lining
+4 team
+3 night person [at night]
+10 mutations (+and- accounted) +12 if teammates too
+2 int bobblehead
80.25 int at 3% each

+5% sleep (easy to get)
+5% lighthouse (IMO not worth it)
+15% inspirational (easy to get)
+100% lunchbox (easy to get)
+37.5% cranberry relish (easy to get)
x2 exp weekend
~377.5% x2 = ~755%
+100% as base exp
~477.5% x2 = ~955%

From the last one you cap exp on supermutants somewhere around 70 intelligence here... I don't remember where it was exactly but it was like 74-76 or something that they started doing 4000 exp per kill cap in westtek, well under what this reaches

so is that a yes ? :P should I pump int ?

Int has some mediocre perks for non PA players

Gunsmith 5 is a nice QoL for anyone
The energy weight reduction one is also a great QoL
Nerd rage is pretty essential to any unyielding build
Explosive 5 is ok for extra damage on those weapons

entirely up to you if you want to or not

If you don't you will level up 25-50% slower than if you do
if you focus an exp build you will level up 800-2000% faster than if you don't

depends on what you want from the game

I'll play it casually so I dont think I'll buff it to insane levels of int so even if I eventually get legendary my int will sit on 20 most of the time. so I guess I shouldnt bother? because it looks like you get 800-2000% faster level ups when you buff it to 80 or something? wow. thanks for the insight though. maybe I'll try it after I get some more play time under my belt.

I just run around with the base 1 Int.

I don't level nearly as fast. However, I enjoy other aspects of the game that are a bit limited when you put that much effort into EXP boosts.

I'm loving the exploring and quests. I'm really glad its not like other online games (or Dragon Age Inquisition :P) where all the side quests are go kill this or go fetch that :D

Intelligence isn't just for experience. It also affects the durability of crafted weapons and armor. If you are a crafter, consider boosting your intelligence while crafting so that your stuff won't break as fast.

What other aspects?
You're missing out on almost all of the weapon modification perks.

its incredibly useful. Have it at, at least 10+
Harry88814 Nov 29, 2021 @ 10:44am
It is one best stats. With INT 15 you have reap most XP. Then there is perks for melee and guns users. Energy weapons and mods also require intelligence. Max intelligence also pretty neat in 2x XP weekends. I wish that 2x XP could be more often.
For me qualite of life also means easy maintenance, so i only use cranberry relisch, lunchboxes and lemonade (canned coffe if needed), full health and casual/phases of play rather.

That's pretty lazy...

Want to see why intelligence is a must?
Check my artwork.

68k XP on a non double xp weekend.

I'm curious, you put Brain bombs as +11.25 intelligence boost and when i've occasionally used them I only see +7.5 is there something else?
Thxs.

Mutation and the team perk that makes all perks more effective.
Strange in numbers or something
