Wow. Fixer vs. Enclave Plasma Rifle

I'd been using my automatic Enclave Plasma rifle for quite a long time now... Had the mods and legendary effects just the way I liked it.

I recently came to own some very high quality Fixers ad decided to try them out in today's Daily Op.

While the Enclave Plasma has a lot of kick behind each shot, it is horribly inefficient in VATS (which I use a lot).

With the Fixer, I can burn my entire magazine (when using the AA variant -- probably not with Q) and still have tons of AP to spare.

It's actually kind of silly/stupid how much of a difference there is between the two weapons as far as AP cost is concerned.

I'd gotten so used to controlled, burst-firing playing with the Plasma rifle. Feels completely unnecessary with a Fixer.

I've done the math (well I've seen others do the math and been like yep that checks out) energy weapons are gunna be awsome soon... the only question will be in real world comparisons... I think PTS players have confirmed that they are almost but not quite as good as the top level current things... with enclave plasma ones being on par with exposive railways

Oh noes, different weapons are different, this is so baaad...

Yea.. my plasma rifle never cost me AP to VATS fire as much as it cost me canned coffee or other AP foods. Before emptying a clip in VATS I'd just down a dozen high AP snacks.

Different weapons are different, but they are still mostly same.
I've played with automatic combat rifles, laser and ultracite lasers, plasma, tesla, automatic pipe rifles, etc...
They all feel broadly similar in terms of AP efficiency.

The Fixer is so much more efficient in VATS that it almost feels like a bug.

Wow. Railway Rifle also feels like a bit of an anomaly to me too.
I just spent this afternoon running around with a Q2525 Railway (first time actually using one) and it is a lot of fun.
And also surprisingly incredibly AP efficient!
I wouldn't have expected it to be so, being such a heavy weapon with extremely heavy ammo (even with max level Bandolier equipped).

Yes the sky cannon is amazing but its not useable outside of vats

don't think you can reduce the weight of the ammo for it is why its heavy
