Trap Camp? Maybe
So I popped into a camp today, and it was a little...odd. All concrete block walls. I walked in through the entrance, arrows directed me to the right down a narrow hallway, then into a smallish room with a vendor station on the left. To the right was another door. While looking at the door, I could see...something. Turned out to be the camp owner, crouched down in stealth mode, but his name popped up by passing the mouse over him. I waved to him, no response. Turning to the vendor station, I noticed a pressure plate with a wire running from it, very close to the vendor station. Avoiding the pressure plate, I checked the inventory, nothing I wanted, so I just teleported out.

Trap Camp? Beats me.:steamhappy:

oh i know the dude he's harmless
he just gets off seeing people triggering pressure plates
don't ask
he's also an avid collector/hoarder of oil

I wondered if he was wanting to jump scare people looking at his vendor station.
Disappointed that he didn't wave back or something when I waved to him, but maybe he was afk at that moment.

maybe waving wasn't an option at that specific moment in time

If you read the TOS/TOU trap bases are not allowed.
I think trap camps are allowed, however, exploiting glitches that over lap traps that are technically not supposed to be possible IS against the TOS since the user is using exploits to essentially cheat having an insane amount of traps overlapping each other to instantly kill a player.

But I'm pretty sure trap camps are ok as long they are within the constraints of what is allowed in the game.

LOL

joking aside
bethesda is just not capable in keeping control over any situations going on in their game
it's not even about a rickety old engine overheating all the time (that's what every fallout player expects anyway, we can deal with that excellently)
it's about childish planning from the start
best example for this i can think of: why can't i block certain players beforehand?

if a friend tells me they've met a cheater and warns me, i'd like to avoid that person also
but bethesda logic:
i first have to friend request them so i can block them if they chose to accept ? lol
Insanity.
don't wanna sound like some uppity boomer lol, but:
...back in my days
trap camps were awesome :D
i saw someone make a labyrinth with a deathclaw running in it, low lvls running for their lives through the maze
a floor catapult thing to send customers all the way back down where they came from
nowadays punjiboards durr durr
feels like creativity has left the building

Made me laught a little, its only 4 years old, the game.
I have played from launch just moved from bethesda launcher to steam when fo76 was out on steam around 2020 :)

I dont see many trap camps and those i have seen i reported and never seen them again, i suspect they got terminated. Ofc, you need proofs and a report without proofs are not gonna get you anywhere, you need screens but what works best is hitting alt+f9 and start recording, upload the video to hidden on youtube so only those with the link can watch it and send it to bethesda, when you report someone you get an automated email that ask for more informations like what happened, time and date, proofs in form of screens or videos and so on, all you do is hit reply and post player name, time and date "so they can see it in the log" upload screens or link to the video and tell them what happened,
Yeah i have done this many times by now xD
i hardly report such things, but 1 exception
trap camps in the green zone
those are intended to target the new players
and un-nukeable, so total cnuts in my book

would you report a camp that actually would warn players it's a trap-camp?
big sign outside eg?

Rules of Conduct
Except as prohibited by applicable law and subject to the Statutory Obligations (as defined in Section 1), ZeniMax has the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, restrict, suspend, or terminate Your access to or Your receipt, play or use of the Services for various reasons, including without limitation because (i) Your information is untrue, inaccurate, or incomplete; (ii) Your activities infringe, or are suspected to infringe, another's rights or any intellectual property; (iii) ZeniMax in its sole discretion determined that You or Your Account reflects inappropriate Content; or (iv) You or activities taken under or with Your Account violate these Terms of Service. Other Supplemental Terms pertaining to Your Service and/or Game, such as a Code of Conduct, provide guidance on behavior that ZeniMax deems to be inappropriate and specify restrictions on Your Account, Your access to or receipt, play, or use of the Game, or Your participation in the Services.

You agree not to access, receive, play, or use any Service to:

  • Take any action or upload, post, transmit, promote, or distribute any illegal Content, including, but not limited to, any UGC or any Game Mods;
  • Take any action or upload, post, transmit, promote, or distribute any Content that infringes or violates any third-party rights;
  • Engage in any activity that exploits, harms, or threatens to harm children.
    Harass, stalk, threaten, embarrass, spam or do anything else to another user of any Services that is unwanted, such as repeatedly sending unwanted messages or making personal attacks or statements about race, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc.;

  • Take any action or upload, post, transmit, distribute, or communicate Your or any person's real-world personal data;
  • Impersonate any person or entity, including, but not limited to, ZeniMax, ZeniMax's partners' or affiliates' employees, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent Your affiliation with a person or entity;
  • Take any action, organize, transmit any Content, effectuate or participate in any activity, group, or guild that is harmful, tortuous, abusive, hateful (including "hate speech"), terrorist or violent extremist content, racially, ethnically, religiously, gender-based, or otherwise offensive, obscene, threatening, bullying (including advocating violence against others), vulgar, sexually explicit, defamatory, libelous, infringing, invasive of personal privacy or publicity rights, encourages conduct that would violate a law or is, in a reasonable person's view, objectionable and/or deemed to be in the sole discretion of ZeniMax inappropriate;
  • Promote, upload, transmit, encourage, or take part in any activity involving hacking, cracking, phishing, taking advantage of exploits or cheats and/or distribution of counterfeit software and/or Virtual Currency or virtual items. In an effort to continuously improve the Services, You and other players discovering exploits, cheats, cracks or other inconsistencies are required to report them to ZeniMax;
  • Take any action or upload, post, transmit, promote, or distribute any Content or software code that may contain a Trojan horse, virus, worm, spyware, time bombs, cancelbots, corrupted data, malware, malicious code, or other computer programs that may damage, interfere with, intercept, expropriate or disrupt the Services, including, but not limited to, any Game(s), personal data, or confidential or proprietary information;
  • Take any action that permits You to collect personal data or aggregated and/or anonymized statistics of others;
  • Engage in disruptive behavior in chat areas, game areas, forums, or any other area or aspect of the Services. Examples of disruptive behavior include, but are not limited to, conduct which interferes with the normal flow of gameplay or dialogue within a Service, vulgar language, abusiveness, hitting the return key repeatedly or inputting large images so the screen goes by too fast to read, use of excessive shouting [i.e., all text in capitals] in an attempt to disturb other users, "spamming" or flooding [i.e., posting repetitive text], commercial postings, solicitations and advertisements, posting advertising or promotional messaging, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or other commercial activities.
    Attempt to get a password, Account information, or other private information from anyone else. As a reminder, ZeniMax employees will never ask You to reveal Your password.

The parts in bold are my emphasis. The code of conduct is quite vague as even a simple act of embarrassing someone can be seen as a violation.

My guess is that all it really takes is someone going to the effort to report with maybe some evidence to enact a response.

There is not much in TOS that say trap camps i do agree on that, but it is griefing and can even go under the catagory of harassment.
The victim can walk away at any time. So that by definition is not griefing or harassment.

It never occurred to you that a reported player is automatically blocked. Instead you assume they got punished.

You honestly think reporting people has an effect other than receiving an automated email.

I told you to quote it and reference it. You failed to do that. Please go try to con someone else because it aint going to work on me.
i once embarrassed someone on their twitch by refusing to speak french to her
she didn't even told me she was streaming
i speak french quite well, but i'm not everyone's monkeyboy so i went https://youtu.be/EuXdhow3uqQ?t=32

Good, you're not a simp. I swear 99% of women on Twitch are just thots wanting to milk simps. Please prove me wrong.
Sundowning. Mar 28, 2022 @ 9:31pm
Another simple activity that isn't against the TOS because it revolves around player freedom of action.

1 - Build camp in elevated surface (Pylons in Cranberry bog for example)
2 - Wait for someone to fast travel to your camp
3 - Activate another one of your camps, despawning the previously active.

I wouldn't be me if I didn't give any unsuspecting new player the solution to these ones.

If you see a floating camp that could kill you if despawned, always visit it power armor.

Honestly just don't go to player camps, no one has anything of worth for sale anymore. It's either terrible legendaries or 100 cursed weapons to lure you in to a trap.
