Recon BOS armor or Secret service armor?

So currently, i've been trying to get the BOS recon armor in daily ops after realizing that its better than Secret service armor.. but I've had no luck with getting it and only that boring covert scout armor, But i have been saving my treasury notes as well and still just dont know if I should get either one.

neither of them. Unless you are just getting them for the jet pack or how they look. Fallout 76 has diminishing returns on ballistic and energy resistance.

Just get a full set of heavy combat armor or marine armor.

Habitually, those armor sets are for end game playing ... . Meanwhile, yeah, Heavy Combat or Marine armor do the job, most of the time ... .

BOS recon has better Damage Resistance.
Secret Service has better Energy and Radiation Resistance

Why not both? SS is easy to get. Just start spending bullion on it. Then, when you get the rest of the plans for the Recon, start crafting that.

covert = rng-gods

i would get plans for ultra-light mods for ss too
just to lighten the weight on stash-volume

personally
the answer heavily depends on character build
it might sound strange at first, but i have a character using wood armor pieces
extreme example, but even so proves my point that it's not always about best this and that

I bought the plans for Secret Service Armor long ago and it is my standard wear.

Good solid armor for most situations and almost as good as wearing Excavator armor. A PVE with a flamer and take you down very quick, but that is it. I fear nothing wearing it but it is suitably 3-star legendary with mods.

The other day I got careless and I died, legendary kicked in and brought me back...

I would put Asbestos lining in the SS chest instead of jet pack. I do much better with Earl and Encryptid events because of it.

You don't need it for encryptid, defensive perks allow you to face tank it at 5% health

earle I keep a set of swap armour to not have to worry about the ceiling collapsing on me anymore its super handy there

Bullion is easier to get than random chance, especially as the drop rate is pretty low from what I am aware.

I have like 53 notes right now, but I'm saving for the secret service armor right now.
