It´s actually a matter of time. If you have enough time to gather food, it isn´t worth it. If your playtime is very limited it might be a good idea. I would still go for more weight.
High capacity is nice but comes with a downside which might possibly get you killed.
What? How?
The more you know. If i die it´s mostly because i am careless or do stupid things. Let´s be honest, once you reach a certain level there isn´t really much that is dangerous anymore. And at the point you get the bigger backpack from the tadpoles you are most likely at a level where you simply don´t die anymore unless you make stupid mistakes.
