Buried Treasure Intercom Bug

I've tried three time to get past this bug and failed. Has anyone any suggestions that worked for them? There must be some trigger that isn't being completed.

May 2024 and I've been trying to complete this quest for over 2 hours and it keeps bugging at some point or the other.

Johnny bugs at the beginning sometimes.

NPCs don't enter the room where we're supposed to use the intercom to talk to them

If they do, the intercom bugs out and doesn't work.

It's frustrating.

I'm stuck on this also. First it was the keycard not working to get into the room to flip the breaker. Then it was the intercom thing. At first I didn't know what was suppose to happen so I was confused. At first all three wasn't entering that room. I would go back to the entrance of the vault then go back. This causes all but Ra-Ra to go into the room. I have yet to get Ra-Ra to go into the room which I assume is required to continue the mission.

Still broken as ever. First Johnny would get stuck, then the invisible door near the intercom. Verified files (supposedly a fix for some), then Gail started getting stuck at the vault entrance, then sometimes Johnny would get stuck there. This game has been out for years, and they can't get interaction/pathing to work when it was mostly fine in FO4/NV/3...

May 2024, spent hundreds of caps fast travelling in an attempt to reset room, no luck. The state of this game this many years after release is pathetic, dev focus is blatantly elsewhere.

whats funny is bethesda said in the last patch notes they fixed buried treasure so they must be getting back to the whole "we did a thing" but they never did anything them saying they " we did a thing" is them doing thing.
next patch they can just say " we fixed the t type fuse quest"

This is how to avoid the bug.

When you first open the big vault door go inside and kill all the turrets. Then go back out and talk to the NPCs.

What happens is the scripting gets jumped/derailed if the turrets make Johnny or Gail go down.

This also prevents the script issues at the first door as well.

As of May 2024, this doesnt stop the bug

I have the same thing, first Johnny did not move. When I finally succeeded after a million attempts i was stuck at the intercom. Pathetic

the NPCs were all stuck for me outside the intercom and not doing anything. i tried to the suggested things in this thread but didn't work. what did work:

teleport back outside the vault
toggle quest inactive
toggle quest active
go back in and hope it works

edit: the game crashed when i was going through the vault so i had to redo this and like last time, they got stuck. i did the steps above and it also worked again.
