cast place doors on 2st floor

so I am making my camp and I can't put doors on the 2st floor, I can put them in fine on the 1st floor but not the second

Camp building is terrible in this game. Things dont snap right half the time or not at all. Try a different angle or use mouse to rotate the object. You may get lucky. Are you building on an upper floor piece?

yeah I am building on a upper floor peace, I can't connect stairs to normal floors apparently

Yea for some reason they thought it was a good idea to separate ground floor and upper floor and you can't connect the two.

But anyways, you should be able to build a door on an upper floor piece. I've done it many times.

Is there anything else already on this floorpiece? Or anything near it? Maybe another wall, or a roof. Have you tried building a second upper floor piece and put the wall there?

There is also a height cap. You can build about 4 floors (including ground floor). If you build 4 floors you will not be able to put a roof on it though. Sometimes I feel no one tested this stuff.

nope just the floor, and my house is like 2½ stories tall (2 floors and there are stairs up to the roof)
