mini nukes are reasonably common ammo
nuclear cards are very common
the game has a single player mode, you need to subscribe to fallout 1st and play on a private server so it will cost you like an extra 10 / month on top of the base game
When i play Bathesda's MMO's like elder scrolls online or fallout 76, i always get the subscription to support the company. The private worlds and infinite scrap box is just super amazing. But then again i am someone who plays solo and doesn't have any friends that play Fallout 76. Would be awesome to find some but i would never join a public server.
Kinda funny, but more of a ♥♥♥♥ move by whoever did it. Nothing like weighing down a new player.
What your real issue is though is that you want FO5 but they made FO76 multiplayer/mmo and you want to throw rocks through Bethesda's office windows. I get it, I was the same way. But I gave it a shot and it's not that bad.
Sounds like the case to me.
As far as duping things. Ain't nobody going to dupe mini-nukes, grenades, 40mm etc. People will do anything to get rid of them.
its not like in read dead online where hackers spawn in chest players can open with out knowing it was hacked in and get banned
shops arnt on some master server list you can buy from any one from any where, but are not connected and only accessible by walking up to them and only available to people in the world they are in and the people in said world
if it looks sus dont buy from it
Yes there are dupes and yes there are exploits, but every single online game has them. There are no online games that are bug free and playing so many of them I go into new online games with a grain of salt. I also don't start my questions saying "Exploits / Dupes and New Players." I would say something akin to "I found a player that dropped a bunch of *insert item here* is this common?" A simple question, not assuming exploits, not assuming duping, a simple question.
So yes your post does not fit my narrative because you sound like everyone that may try to help are duping. I drop huge sums of ammo because I do not use any of the normal ammo types except fusion cells. So if I run to a new player, drop 3000 rounds of .38 ammo, it's my collection of ammo I save for new players.
I can after several hours of playing easily do what you described that happened to you. If I pick up every mini nuke at West Tek or around the place, then I would likely have what a brand new and completely inexperienced player would call "an insane amount". Players drop things for new players all the time. I do it at least twice a day if i'm on for a while and I see new players on my server. I would drop them slightly more useful items though like stims and radaway and ammo.
Dropping things for new players is done all the time in this game by many players. It is not duping. It is called thinking of others and helping them out. In your case someone had a bit of a sense of humour in dropping useless heavy ammo for you. That's all.
If you have no idea as you have not played before how can you even label it an exploit or a dupe or say it felt like one? I know for sure I couldn't when I was brand new and had no game knowledge. If you declined to take them why would you uninstall? You could have asked on the forum here and solved all this non-existent hassle with one question instead of jumping to completely incorrect conclusions.
After 45 years on this planet I have found most humans suck. Can't wait to return to planet Omicron Persei 8 with a full belly.
I did a daily ops vs super mutants a while back
one of the guys in it decided to drop a bunch of dismembered super mutants body parts in a gift bag near the ops boss at the end, along with a bunch of other questionable stuff I'd never seen and I'm at a year in the game now
turns out you can collect those from the rad rumble area in waste bins
