gauss minigun vs other heavy weapons
I've read a lot of info about heavy guns and watched videos from some youtubers, but most of them use a bloodied build and i was wondering from anyone who don't use a bloodied build and uses heavy weapons. Which is your fav weapon? have you ever tried gauss minigun? is it good nowadays? I appreciate all the responses, honestly :happyio:

Eh I use non power armour secret service unyielding with anti armour weapons

That said, I think the Gauss mini is one of the better heavy weapon choices for non legacy weapon types

My main character is normal heavy weapon build and Gauss minigun while quite good, it's ammo hungry gun and that make this weapon hard to maintain. I use plasma caster for normal mobs and use plasma gatling for boss, both use anti armor legendary.

I see, i was thinking about how it could become easier to keep fed with the upcoming update on december, apparently the daily ops ammo system will be implemented on appalachia, wonder how will it work and if it's true

Correct me if i'm wrong but in daily ops, the ammo drop of 2mm ec use gauss rifle as reference so it only drop few rounds per mob and if you use gauss gatling it will left you with deficit instead of profit as you use more rounds per kill usually.

The Gauss minigun seems like its should be a god tier weapon but because of the nature of its ammo type is only really good vs most trash mobs since Bosses have a lot of explosive resistance. You would think it would be good in Daily ops because daily ops has minibosses and trash mobs drop ammo but the ammo drop is balanced around the other gauss weapons so enemy only drop less than 10 rounds at a time.

Personally an anti armor explosive regular minigun is about as good as a Gauss minigun. Or the best heavy weapon for trash mobs a quad harpoon gun since it generates its own ammo.

The Gauss mini has that great psychological shock and awe effect but ammo supply let it down.

Core weapons, Gatling laser/plasma, have good dps but core reload is buggy and annoying.

.50 cal is good and Final Word from Beckett quest is a guaranteed good roll legendary. Ammo is a bit of an issue as it comes in rifle amounts unless primed.

Gatling gun is solid. Good per shot damage and easy to get ammo. Slow firing can be annoying without faster fire rate effect.

Pepper Shaker is ok but needs a specialised build limiting changing to other guns on the fly. Fusion cells are a good option and easy to get.

Plasma Casters are fun for short stints. Plasma ammo is rare (contextual ammo might change that). Best used in VATS but VATS and PA drain cores increasing cost to use.

Flamers I don't have any real experience with but theY have some bugs with mods and range.

Minigun is ok but is really a tier one Gauss. Shredder play may be fun but more a melee style than heavy gun.

But I always find I favour the Gatling gun, even vs SBQ or Earle as the slower auto cannon style feels right.

Bloodied gauss minigun is one of the best weapons for heavy. But the ammo is scarce. However the ammo is very heavy, and expensive to make. Best choice is to make ultracite ammo for it, with the ammo smith and ammo factory perk together with super duper.

Damage is very good on medium to close range, it dimishes on far distances.

Yes and no, really depends on how you shoot, your team and what kind of daily you're doing. For instance right now i have a LMG and in one daily op if i don't control my fire, i could easily use around 2k bullets, but the way i shoot it (using controller) i use less than 800 bullets per daily ops and i end up with 1k-1.2k (link is the best kind of daily op for ammo farming and those with speedy enemies are the best), also if you have a full team or at least one more friend, you won't shoot as much as you think and you'll end up with profit

Gauss Minigun is underwhelming for a weapon locked behind gold bullion.

You can't go wrong with the Final Word which is a great heavy weapon, or look into everyone and their unborn's favorite: the Gatling Plasma. The Ultracite Gatling Laser is also really nice.

If you don't care about how fast you kill the enemy and want excellent ammo efficiency, the Gatling Gun is top dog in my opinion.
