Fallout 76
Graphics card performance issue (stuttering) after update today.
After the update today, the whole game is stuttering like hell and is unplayable.
NVidia and Radeon cards.
It looks like the graphic cards have huge swings in strict time, tested in MSi Afterburner.

Edit: After a year this issue finally seems to be fixed.
The problem mainly occurred on Windows 7 and 8.

Guys, don't forget to write your review to this mess. Maybe it helps, who knows ;)
Done, it's the least I can do. I can see that W7 and 8 are done for though, every new game out there this year is W10 exclusive, even titles that are DX11 like F76 and could very well run on other Windows versions, so, either we jump the wagon and sell ourselves to microshit or we go potato console gaming, either way, pc community is getting to much toxic and full of ♥♥♥♥ for my taste, not everyone is rich to can afford a new processor + motherboard combo every 3 years like microshit wants it to be.

Install Linux then. You don't need new hardware to run Linux. It even runs very well on old hardware. I have an almost 15 year old laptop running Linux that I use as a file server. It doesn't even have SATA support. They don't make PATA/IDE hard drives anymore, so it has to boot from an SD card. Which the BIOS also doesn't support. So I had to install GRUB to USB so it could boot from the SD card. And it still boots faster than modern windows on modern hardware. And I have a netbook (not laptop) that's even weaker and older still, and I use that as a media center.

You don't have to play the upgrade game with microsoft. Linux has so little overhead and is coded so well that whatever hardware you have now can run Linux much better and faster than it can run windows. And thanks to Proton, you can still play windows only games on Linux. You don't have to play by their rules. You have choices.
win10 20H2,3070,32GB RAM
fo76 stuttering randomly, screen freeze 1~3 secs
anybody fix this?
same pc play fo4 very stable
Fallout 4: Broken loading times about 5-10 minutes (not seconds!) with a SSD. Can't fix it.
Fallout 76: Regular Stuttering. Can't fix it.
Skyrim: No problems so far. No stuttering, about 5-10 seconds loading times.
Doom and Wolfenstein: Flawless victory! It runs perfect.

What's up with the Fallout series? No solutions in sight.
Bought the game yesterday.
6h of gameplay
Same random freezing / stuttering problem like the rest of you guys.

Bugs, Bugs never changes

Did you make this change in Fallout4Prefs.ini:
iPresentInterval=0

Fallout 4's load times are tied to the framerate. The higher the framerate, the faster it loads. So to get it to load faster, you have to uncap the framerate.

Alternatively you can use this instead:
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10283
^ I recommend this method. ^

There are also some mods that improve performance by reducing file size, removing pointless stuff, and thus decreasing load times:
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1204
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20713
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9835

And of course, everybody needs UFO4P:
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4598

All together, it takes me about 10 seconds to load from SSD on Linux.

Yes, I tried everything in the ini and options.
It's totally weird, that they bind the load times to the framerate, also because Skyrim and Fallout 3 never had this issue.

And yes, this Load Accelerator would be the next thing I want to try.
And thanks for the other links. It's crazy to think you can play Bethesda games vanilla. ;)

Similar specs. I saw a video that quite looked like my issue and it was attributed to server lag, despite it looking identical to fps drops/stutters. I have no fix sadly but I do think this is the issue and cause. As sometimes it runs fine yet other time it stutters, skips and even crashes. Also, notice large CAMPs or Camps in certain locations like Whitesprings almost always cause this issue, like having a large CAMP built on the grounds of Whitesprings is triggering this lag. I have no proof but saw the video on a bethesda forum about this issue in 76 and it looked identical to my problem.

So if it is truly server lag, not much we can do on our end. I love the game so much I am just dealing with it. And sometimes it barely surfaces, other times it's very intrusive and makes it hard to play. One reason I believe it to be server lag is lower resolutions or graphic settings seem to have no impact on the problem.

5-10 minutes wtf?? i never had ssd on this pc, well i never had ssd at all, and i have load times on fallout 4 in like less than one minute when going out to exterior world from interior or loading a savegame and less than 30 secs when going into interior
my computer was not even considered hight end IN 2015

Change iPresentInterval to 0 in fallout76prefs.ini in documents/my games/fallout76 Also turn off vertical sync in the nvidia 3d settings for the game.
I did this. I can play for a random amount of time, then the frame-rate will drop (according to fraps) and stuttering (the framerate is the same according to fraps at this point) feeling unplayable even if it's at 60 fps. It can be an hour and a half, or 20 mins. The stutter is perpetual jerking, like a vibration, making lockpicking impossible.

Starting fauschtnacht or however it's spelled seems to manually trigger this.
Bethesda! Give me my money! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!:angry_creep:
This week is a regular update?
I stoped playing Fallout 76 so far.
Any news about fix/update/whatever? I havent played since 19th... what a waste ;/
So far it seems like not much has improved. The stores and player vendors seem to load slightly faster. But the framerate is still trash and may have actually gotten worse, and it still takes ages to switch weapons. So there's no good news on my end to share. :VGRUMPY:

The game seems to load fine now and plays relatively fine for about 5-10 minutes until you fast travel, that seems to trigger the massive stutters for me, perhaps they kind of address it in the next patch for the new season
