You can thank the trap camp builders for that btw.
trap camps are fun. nothing wrong with them. even vault tec made a video about that and other dangers... after my wall of text ill post the vid.
you CAN fix your C.A.M.P.s FT landing point. well tbh affix it 90 percent of the time.
you place your camp unit down... you build a camp... (or you have your camp built already dosent matter) then you ft to your own camp... note where you land. now run to the north outside your camps build circle and ft back to your camp note your landing. should be same as from the middle. go to the other compass directions outside your build circle and ft back note the landing point/s
now go to your C.A.M.P. unit itself, open the camp build ui and then pick up the camp unit. rotate it 180 degrees and place it back down. exit build ui and go outside your camps build circle to the north. ft to your camp. did your landing change? it should even if its 10 feet.
now go back repeat the open build menu and grab camp unit move it to the edge of your camp circle to the north. place it. and then go to the south of your camps build circle and ft back. since every camp has varied terrain this method can be fairly quick or you can go real slow move the unit a few feet and rotate it a half rotation etc. you can really get it to land you or a visitor facing the right way and pretty much where you wish, there might be landings elsewhere ... why this happens i cant tell, ive spent a lot of caps fast traveling all over the map then back to my camp... 90 times ill land on the porch facing my camp. 10 times ill land a few feet right or left of the porch...or behind the house.
the camp circle is big and the camp unit is smallish. move it around and take a note of where you land experiment with placement and youll figure it out for your camps terrain.
this works great for river or lakeside camps and landing in the water... move the camp unit to the land part of your camp circle. rotate it as well... get the ft landing on shore and maybe a few times youll land in the water but most of the time ...not.
kind of works for cliff side camps too. but its tricky not impossible. just less area to work with when half the circle overhangs the empty space below ;)
good luck.

since the camp module move the spawn point (like a mat would) how is that different for a trap camp builder?
just give the damn mat already..
Because the C.A.M.P. module doesn't put you in the same exact same spot every time, like a mat would, like Amanandhisdog explained above.
this
nah bruh, the camp modul spawn point is pretty accurate.
I always spawn at the same exact place.
It was disabled in camps because
a - Players used it to glitch out of bounds
b - Players used it to glitch into the dev room
c - Players used it to grief other players
Something something this is why we can't have nice things
They could have just fix it so people can't glitch with it. whatever.
